Good Start to Viz's Mature Shojo Beat Line
I've been a shoujo manga fan most of my life, but, as i've matured, high school romances just are getting more and more difficult to relate to. Happy Marriage?! is a great start for Shojo Beat's mature manga. It's got the shoujo elements of a relationship that begins in an odd way and that needs to be kept a secret. The mature part comes from two elements, #1 being from the physical aspect of the relationship (no sex in this volume, but there is a stronger physical relationship in this volume than most shoujo manga) and #2, the main characters are adults! They're not middle or high schoolers which is really refreshing!I think Viz/Shojo Beat has made a smart move by releasing Happy Marriage?! as well as Midnight Secretary (I recommend that as well!). American manga companies have been releasing shoujo manga for many years now and I think that Viz/Shoujo Beat realized that the girls who were buying their shoujo manga back in the day have grown up and need something just a bit more on their level. Happy Marriage?! volume 1 is pretty cute and I look forward to volume 2 :]

Another funny, sexy romantic-comedy from Shojo Beat!
I pre-ordered Happy Marriage?! 1 a few weeks back because Amazon randomly discounted it to $4.99. I was a bit nervous about this title (forced relationships can turn creepy real quick), but I'm glad I gave it a chance! I'm definitely getting a Butterflies, Flowers vibe from this, so I can see why Viz chose this as their next "It's totally not josei, look, would this Shojo Beat logo lie to you?" title.I laughed out loud quite a bit, and there were only one or two parts that made me side-eye the book ("What's so wrong with looking out for someone who belongs to me?!"). For her part, Chiwa gives as good as she gets when they get into fights (which does happen often), but I can also believe that she's slowly falling in love with Hokuto. My favorite scene was when they go to a Love Hotel (cliche, yes, but DEFINITELY not cliche in how it plays out!), and I actually really liked the last chapter's message. I'm excited to watch their relationship develop! I hope volume 2 keeps up this great pace set by volume 1!

MeToo movement never reached Japanese masses
Pure silly fun, but it is obvious from this book that MeToo movement never reached Japanese masses. Once you have a marriage contract (forced on you by two of your bosses in an office meeting, but never mind), it is OK to be kissed, groped, stalked (with a help of a personal assistant, no less), harassed and otherwise assaulted by the other party. It is also OK to fall in love with that same guy who assaulted you, finding him pure of heart, as in Stockholm syndrome. Still, great reading for your unemancipated submissive self-doubting inner teenager!

but I couldn't help but like this series
I'm not usually into 'slice of life' manga, but I couldn't help but like this series. I bought them through the Kindle app and though I didn't initially intend to buy the whole series, it just kept sucking me in. The characters are this story's strength - while the setup is a little far fetched, the characters' responses to it and each other are credible enough that you accept the premise and keep reading. The artwork is VERY nice, especially the male anatomy (slurp!), and the sex is drawn well, credible, HOT, and doesn't completely take over the story. It's definitely an adult story, but not raunchy and kept me interested throughout. I'd definitely recommend it if you like adult manga that's a bit higher quality than the usual fare.

It's a classic with a generic plot but characters that are much more fleshed out than nor
I'm a guy who reads shojo smut stories all the time and this one is one of my favorites and I highly recommend them to anyone who's into this kind of stuff

Great book!!!!
I received my copy of this manga on the exact date as promised and I love it!!!!!!!!!!! This is a sweet, funny, and interesting story. I love the characters and can't wait to buy all of 10 books when they are released! Considering that I am new to this author I really enjoyed reading her work and I thought the story line wasn't too crazy or too average. Maki Enoji you have just earned yourself a new fan!You should really check out this book. Both characters are lovable and I can't wait to see what new and interesting things they will learn about each other and how they will handle their marriage. Mind you this book is rated for older teens so don't be shocked to see some revealing or hot scenes! ;)

My heart was beating to fast!
I decided to pre-order this book when viz media posted an image on their facebook page (after reading the blurb). It sounded really interesting and i've been wanting to get my teeth into a more mature shojo beat (as in.. a proper love story which isn't too childish).I love this book so much. Its been the first time my heart has raced!! I love, love stories. But for some reason this book reminded me why i love shojo beat so much :)Everyone to their own!.. but i seriously love this manga :) totally pre-ordered the next few volumes!
