Rough and Ready English Style Longbow - 25 to 30 lb. draw weight

I know nothing of bows but I bought this on a whim and because of the price. This bow is pretty simple. String it, shoot it, done. It does the job and feels really good. It looks good as well. As for accuracy I can't tell you, I think this is mostly based on you. My draw is 28" and it feels right when I draw it. I don't give it five starts because the string was frayed when I got it and broke after 10 shots. I will be re-stringing it.UPDATE: Changed to 5 stars because the seller was quick to respond and called me directly to send me a new string. Works great.

I bought this bow for my girlfriend's birthday. Sanded it down and rubbed it with Linseed oil myself for her, and it was really the perfect gift idea. She loves it... thinks she's Katniss Everdeen now.The bow is fairly easy to draw, and a reasonably in-shape person should be able to shoot it without too much trouble. Still, it leaves enough challenge for a novice archer.Beautifully and impressively crafted, it is quite the topic of conversation with guests who come over and see it. Worth the price, and would buy again.

I bought this bow for my renaissance faire costume as an inexpensive alternative to the other medieval style bows available for purchase. It looks great with my costume, and because it's a real, functioning longbow, it adds an air of authenticity. I did use some fine sandpaper to smooth some of the rough areas, but there were only two or three places that really needed it. I also added a leather hand grip and arrow rest to complete the effect. As is, the hand grip is just black tape. The bow is easy to string, and the 25 lb draw weight is perfect for my weak upper body while still being powerful enough to shoot accurately. I would recommend these bows to anyone who will use them for recreation, such as reenactment and role-play. I don't know how well the bow works for heavy use, but from what I understand, if you have any issues with your bow, the company will work to satisfy the customer.

I love archery and did not have a good Longbow, so I got this one from Amazon and have used it a lot, it very much met my expectations!

This is a great bow. If you are willing to put in the work to finish it, it is well worth the money. It is awesome how the bow comes unfinished, and you can finish it however you like. I was able to stain my bow a nice 'red oak' color, and my husband wrapped the handle for me. It is now a very unique bow!If you are going to stain it, I would reccomend finishing it with Linseed Oil.Thanks!

Great for a beginner like me. I set up a 25 m practice range in my back yard and have used this bow now every day for over 9 monthand it still works like new. For longer ranges you might want a stiffer bow.

If you know how to make an English longbow, you better buy a bow stave at somewhere else. If you don't know, this bow is not a bad choice.

I received my bow in a timely fashion with no damage.When testing the bow, I found it just as advertised. However, after a few days I noticed my arrows dropping more than expected. We had the bow inspected and realized it had lost five pounds or more of draw weight. I really don't know why, maybe some unseen defect in the wood.Oh well, stuff happens.Nearly a month after my purchase, I emailed the seller to see if he could help me. Not only is Mr. Silva prompt, he's polite, and has offered to replace my bow free of charge.I don't really care that the bow was defective, it was a fluke and the customer service is amazing. End of story.Highly recommended, especially for someone working on building strength from a shoulder injury like me.
