Tidy item
Bought this not so much as a security item, but to stop large rear window from blowing open fully in windy weather. Does that job great and i suppose as i live in a bungalow does add a little security. As a prevention from break in ect, not so sure it would be strong enough for that ! Looks neat and tidy though.

Use the images in the advert for fitting instructions
Firstly it does a job...not necessarily THE job. I have no idea how secure this is against the attention of children (as another review has noted) but as a window restrictor, it's fine. I bought this for an elderly neighbour who wanted to be able to have her top-hung window ajar, without the possibility of it blowing wide open and out of reach. I've warned her that it is not burglar-proof (as it could no doubt be wrenched off quite easily by anyone with such an intention or cropped). It comes in a plastic bag without any instructions...so look at those in this ad. if you need any. This is poor, as a photocopy of the instructions would have only cost the seller a few pence. There are two sets of screws: one for UPVC window and wooden frames, and a set of self drilling screws for aluminium frames...so don't mix them up.The cable is thin, but was sufficient for the job I was doing (see above). There is only one key (as others have noted), so look after it!Screw covers would have improved the aesthetics, but for the price you can't complain.

Easy to fit
Installed very quickly , only issue I would say is only one key provided would be better if 2 could be supplied

lock problem
We needed this as our loft window was blowing open in the wind to the extent that we couldn't reach out to pull it shut without resorting to ropes and broom handles two stories up . This will do the trick very well , it was very easy to fit and allows the window to open just the right amount , We had a problem with the lock mechanism though ,it kept jamming in one position and took an age and lots of cursing to open it or close it again , Fortunately we don't need to open it and it can stay in the locked position , or we would have needed to return it . I presume this is not a regular problem as no one else has mentioned it , The provided screws are a bit on the long side but they just managed . Hopefully no matter how strong the wind gets it will stay stay in position , it seems strong enough .
