Draper 52329 Clutch Mate Universal Alignment Tool , Blue

Used today when fitting a clutch to a customers Navara D40, the tool worked perfectly and enables me to fit the clutch plate blind with the gearbox pushed back but no dropped down which saves time and heavy lifting too.The tool is easy to use and comes with 3 different sized shims so you can do 99% of clutch alignments with the one tool.Those who say it's not strong enough are simply not using the tool properly, the YD25 clutch is large and this tool had no problem holding it aligned without having to overtighten the locknut.Great little addition to any toolbox and cheap enough to use once if you are not confident at aligning with other methods.

Worked great, It was a little fiddly to setup and secure the pressure plate and driven plate, but once it had secure it in place it was nice and tight. I had good result aligning, gearbox went straight in, which was a first for me. It is made of plastic so probably would last to long if your doing many jobs, So if it's just for one or two use's then this is a good budget aligning tool.

Good tool perfect for alignment clutches

Well packaged and delivered promptly. Used on BMW MINI clutch replacement (i.e. without flywheel spigot bearing for gearbox input shaft). The tool secures the friction plate to the pressure assembly and assists centralisation. A split collet arrangement allows removal after assembly to flywheel. The manufacturing quality is adequate for occasional usage but would not last regular use in a garage unless spare collets were made available.

Ok well packaged with easy instructions. Used this on a Land Rover and found it a bit of a faf. It was difficult to get it to hold the the clutch plate. The clutch plate is stock and the pressure plate relatively heavy. Getting this to create enough pressure to hold the clutch plate to the pressure plate so they could be assembled was not easy. Used the largest adapter but it wouldn’t grab in the centre hole in the clutch plate. Had to try and hold the adapter and the central wedge screw then mess around trying to assemble the rest of it with one hand while still holding the other bits in place. Took a lot of patience.A Land Rover is definitely at the upper end of the scale even though the clutch assembly is not very heavy duty. The tool would probably not work if I was installing a heavy duty assembly. Definitely would not like to try with something up to 5 tonne as stated on the pack.

Made allignment of my clutch a breeze. Would recommend it to everyone

Follow instructions and it's easy to use. I had a clutch and flywheel removal to do. I changed from a dual mass to a single mass for those of you who understand. The tool worked perfectly.
