Vows - 5 Star Debut
What a fantastic debut album from Kimbra! Miles better than expected, i have to say. An eclectic mix of songs with uniquely different musical styles which means the majority will be able to appreciate a good number of the tracks. The singles 'Cameo Lover' and 'Come Into My Head' (where I first became of her solo work) are a couple of the standout tracks, and one of the more widely known singles 'Settle Down' is initially one of the more bizarre sounding, but it will certainly grow on you.If you were drawn to this through Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know' then you may be a bit disappointed, as it's completely different, but undoubtedly a terrific find and at such a reasonable price on Amazon (bought at £4, but still worth it providing it stays below £8!!)'Warrior', 'Sally I Can See You' and 'Posse' are the unsung heroes on the album and would certainly rate these as my favourite three tracks. There's something on the album for people with a wide range of musical penchants, so it's definitely worth purchasing.

I love this Kiwi Woman
The release date for the UK, was just so far away, so I bought the Australian version from here months before it was set to come out officially, and I love it! Vows is 'all that' and more, the way Kimbra uses her vocal abilities to congure up tableaux in my head is incredible! If I had to choose 3 of my favourite songs on Vows, they have to be: Cameo Lover, Two Way Street and Call Me, but every song is magical, even the hidden track at the end! Thank You Kimbra Lee Johnson!

Pop newcomer starts strong
On one hand, Kimbra is part of an overcrowded genre - quirky fem-pop heavy on the electro, fighting for space alongside Ladyhawke, Bat for Lashes, Florence & The Machine, Marina & The Diamonds and so on. What sells her here is the impressive variety of style, catchiness of the tunes and her distinctive voice - there's no concession to mainstream-baiting middle of the road ballads here, just an artist expressing her obviously wide musical influences and interests with a consistent quality throughout.

What an amazing talent!
This girl's music isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, maybe too jazzy and out-there, sometimes lacking in a distinctive hook or melody! (reminded me of Swing Out Sister in places - retro) But I loved it, there is an overall mellowness to the album which makes all the various styles on the tracks hang together and of course her beautiful voice which is quite distinctive and makes a real change from all the other female soundalikes we have at the moment. Good luck with your career Kimbra.

Adele + Amy Winehouse= KIMRA
VOWS is one of the best studio projects i have ever heard.Every song is different and takes you on a journey into sound with an emotional heart felt since of playfulness that only Kimbra can express, and that she does it well. The order of the songs were placed in perfect order. It's a great CD and the music quality is clean and unforgettable.I will be listening to Kimbra for years to come.

Cool, but not catchy.
I got this after loving Kimbra on the Gotye collaboration "Someone that I used to know" (which is not on this album) and also after hearing "Settle Down" during an interview with Kylie Minogue who was raving about her. I still love "Settle Down" which is the first song on the album, but the rest of the album is not for me I'm afraid. After listening to it twice all the way through and not getting into it, I was left thinking that none of the other songs are memorable enough for me to want to play the album for a third time. I might try the Gotye album instead.

Immeasurable talent
Kimbra's début album is one of my all-time favourite albums. No two songs are alike as Kimbra plays with a plethora of sounds and styles. From the opening to the end, Kimbra impresses with not only her originality and creative song-writing, but also with her powerhouse of a voice. A stunning album from one of the greatest talents out there.

A Classy Debut
Stumbled across Kimbra on Youtube and liked what I saw. Bought and loved this, then bought the next album which is even better. Great mix of great songs, stripped down production and clever and inventive arrangements. Sheer class

Neozelandese, una bella voce e brani eccezionali
Se non la conoscete cercatela su YouTube, troverete video meravigliosi; consiglio quelli in cui lei e la sua band si esibiscono sul tetto di una emittente radiofonica.

Einmalig
Kimbra (Johnson), der breiten Öffentlichkeit bekannt geworden als Duettpartner von Gotje in "Somebody that I used to know". Must hear, must have.

So talented
This girl has so much talent and individuality. I was hooked when I heard a live version of Cameo Lover few years back, and was incredibly excited when she release a US/Canada album because honestly, the Australian version is too expensive. The tracks on this album are all unique, showcasing different styles of her vocals and different sides of her personality. If only "Withdraw" from the Australian album was on this tracklist! Great purchase!

Espectacular debut
Gran álbum debut de la jovencísima Kimbra, una artista diferente que gusta de bebe de todo tipo de influencias.Un disco ligero y divertido de la apadrinada de Gotye.
