Grandsons ' enthusiasm will be well served.
Looks excellent. The boys will be really please. A combination of looking good and being tough but will do little or no harm if misused. I would have liked to be warned about the possible slow delivery. Otherwise excellent in every respect.

Good solid plastic replica
If your kids like dressing up as knights or medieval soldiers, they will enjoy this reproduction of a barbute style helmet. This kind of helmet was popular with medieval archers, as there was no brim to interfere with drawing a bowstring, yet still offered good protection. It looks really realistic, probably not as shiny and polished as the original, more like a helmet that's seen some wear and tear and rust spots. A nice effect. It will probably fit heads between ages 5 and 12 best, I think by age 12 it'll start feeling a little cramped, below age 5, a little loose. There is no padding inside (real life helmets normally either had padding, or the wearer first put on a coif, a kind of padding on the head) so it can tend to slide round, over the eyes, to the side, during play, especially on smaller heads. It also does not offer any real protection against accidental blows to the head - not that I would be expecting it to, it is a toy after all, but some people might. Our solution is to wear a wool hat (without a bobble) underneath it first, tucked in out of view. That helps stop the helmet sliding round and also offers a little bit more padding against kids' accidentally bashing each other with plastic swords, rolled up newspapers etc!

This product does not look like the photograph.
It was a dull grey colour with no hint of the gold/bronze finish that was implied in the photograph. I would be pleased to receive a replacement as shown.

The helmet is pretty good for kids
The helmet is pretty good for kids. My son is 7yrs old and sits reasonably well. Delivery a bit slow but coming from eastern Europe.Unfortunately I didn't get the helmet in the picture ! I received the ' Norman ' one which is clearly made by the same manufacturer. My son liked it all the same and I couldn't be bothered to send it back.

My grandson loves it and his review is the only one worth having.
Looks authentic so 7 year old grandson is very happy , even though it is not solid metal it certainly looks like it is!Time will tell how long it lasts though in battle!

Really well made medieval helmet that made my 6 year old look really authentic as Joan of Arc for her school castle day. Arrived quickly and well packed.

Too expensive for what it is. It's just a plastic shell, no padding, mounting or anything. A balaclava improves the fit (and look).
