The colour plates are well presented although two are repeated, so you have an extra copy of some of the uniforms - bonus! Maps, illustrations of equipment and portraits throughout.

Excellent book on a little known conflick. Gives a very good description of the war and the causes, plus weapon and uniform descriptions. A set of excellent plates of the uniforms of the forces involved is included. A very good buy. Highly recommended..

This book explains the little known first Schleswig-Holstein war, explaining the causes of the conflict, the campaigns during the war and the settlement of a peace afterwards. It packs a lot of information in its 155 pages, with a lot of maps, illustrations of the battles and portraits of diferent personalities of the conflict. Apart from the conflict, you get a lot of information about the tactics of the era, wich weaponry they used (with some esoteric weapons like Espignoles), tables detailing manpower and fleets, orders of battle, even four colour plates showing uniforms of the different armies engaged in this conflict.There's very little written in english about this conflict, and this book does a wonderful job explaining it. Highly recommended.
