Help yourself get the help you need
I will honestly say that I struggle with anxiety and have obsessive, worrying thoughts almost constantly. I thought this book might give me a direction to go in to get the help I know I need. The beginning of the book looks at what catastrophizing is and how it impacts all aspects of your life. Also, it is looked at how this negative thought spiraling or constant looking for the worst, can lead to other manifestations in your physical health. I had never really made all of those connections before. This book uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help address catastrophizing, and how you can start to practice this therapy at home. There is also a chapter though on when to know if you need to see a professional therapist and get help there. So, I appreciate that the book is realistic in that it would be great if we can treat ourselves at home, but there is no shame in needed more help from experienced professionals. This is the honest approach I was looking for.

AI-written drivel
I thought this was an actual medical book to deal with catastrophizing. It was written in the largest font possible and then double-spaced, to try to make something out of nothing. This was self-published, there is no bio of the author, and it really feels like it was written by AI. A huge disappointment.

Typographical errors hurt the reading. Not self help, but get a therapist is the message.
This book is full of typographical errors. No one took the time to proof read. That is a bad sign. The basis of this book is to find a therapist and you will need that person to treat your thinking issues. I was looking for a self help book. This is not it although there is some helpful ideas I can incorporate to my thinking.

Combating anxiety and excessive worries
I really liked this book and it deals with a topic that we are all familiar with: the stresses of everyday life, which can put a strain on the body and mind, leaving us with nagging worries and fears that sometimes seem out of control. There are techniques that I can practise anywhere, at home, in the office or even on the road, also helped by cognitive behavioural therapy. The reading was very smooth, the recommended steps are simple and easy to follow and it provided me with real solutions.

Reccomended
This book helped me understand that intrusive thoughts are not my inner desires but just thoughts that I have no control over. For the first time, it felt like I wasn’t alone in some of my intrusive thoughts.
