Multi-talented Pencil - STABILO woody 3-in-1 - Pack of 18 - Assorted colours with sharpener

I run a very popular afterschool art club and work with up to 60 children each week. We rarely use paints due to the additional time it takes to set up painting materials and clean up afterwards, not to mention the potential damage to the classroom and children's clothing! We've occasionally used watercolour pencils but the cheap ones are useless and the expensive ones are poor value for money. These Stabilo pencils have solved all these problems once and for all. Yes, they are pricey, but they are too chunky to break and the colours are incredibly vivid so a little goes a long way. It's a joy to see the children's faces when I demonstrate how they work - it's like magic! My budget is too tight to buy multiple sets of these, but we have perhaps 30 in all and they have been used for about half a dozen lessons (60 kids each lesson!) over the last few months and they are still going (though obviously much shorter). Most of the kids prefer using them to poster paint and the colours are gorgeously bright whether they are used with water or not. Set up is a breeze - just a pot of pencils and paper on each table, then when they are finished drawing I give them a cup of water and a paintbrush. The water gets less saturated than with poster paints too, so they aren't constantly needing a fresh cup. They dry quickly, so no need to leave pictures overnight to dry, and cleanup is a breeze - just empty cups and a quick rinse of the brushes! And if the children don't have time to finish their pictures, they can always do the "painting" bit at home as they don't need any special materials, just water and a brush. Honestly, these are probably the best materials I have ever invested in, and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again in future. They would also make the ideal gift for arty children, and would last a very long time when not being used by 60 of them!!

Oh my!!! I have thrown away all my toddler's other rubbish pencils that come with activity packs, and most of her tatty hardened wax crayons too. Buy these and you can chuck out all your whiteboard markers at work too. They are simply marvellous. wash over the paper with water and watch the vibrance emerge... just gorgeous. My little one's interest in and skill at colouring increased overnight once she got some of these for a birthday gift. I am buying these for other children now as they are just wonderful. Won't break if they get flung around, and safe for babies as they're completely non toxic. Erases off glass plastic and whiteboards too. The sharpener is a bit poor but once you get the knack it does the job. They're pretty chunky, so you can't get fine detail down, but hey that's years away and you can invest in some swanky water soluble Swiss pencils when the time comes...

These crayons are fantastic - we have had our set now for about 4 years and they look hardly used, they are so hard wearing they only need an occasional sharpen. The colours are so vivid and strong - they are far better than any other crayons we have for brightness and depth. We also use them on a white board and I think they are better than dry wipe markers which dry up and run out of ink after a couple of months whereas I can't see us ever needing to replace these. They are also great with wipe clean books and are easier to clean off the pages where as the dry wipe markers left some powdery marks I could not remove, these wipe off and leave the page as good as new. I also expect they are more environmentally friendly thasn dry wipe markers, although I have no proof. I have tried to encourage my daughters school to use them in class but so far without success.

Love these, they are so easy to hold for my daughters as they are nice and chunky and they work on practically anything but yet clean up easily! Also love the fact we can use them to 'paint' with, colout something in then get a wet paint brush and you get a watercolour effect but really vibrant!The colours you get are fab, really strong and bold, they're easy to sharpen and because they are so thick, they dont snap in half like crayolas.

My two year olds showed little interest in drawing with wax crayons or coloured pencils that were too hard to show any mark. Then I bought these and they were hooked on drawing.They are a cross between creamy wax crayons and pencils. They are also like water colours and after you have drawn a picture you can use a damp kitchen roll or wet paint brush to blend the colours. They need to be sharpened with a large pencil sharpener. They wear down a bit quicker than normal pencils because they are softer but that is what makes them so satsifying to draw with. They make an intense colour and because they are so chunky a large area can be coloured in quickly.Definitely the best drawing media I have ever used.

This is my second pack of Woody pencils. I bought the last pack three years ago! They last for ages. My seven year old loves using them. They give such a lovely bright, waxy finish just used on their own. When people see her art work they always ask if she's painted the picture, that's the effect you get when you colour with them. You can add water to the colour on paper but to be honest my daughter is happy just using the pencils. If you don't buy a pack with a pencil sharpener in the box, then ensure you buy one separately as you won't be able to use a large holed pencil sharpener with them - you need the Woody sharpener.

These are fantastic for children who want to paint but you don't want as much mess! I put a little bit of water in a plastic cup and my children dip the pencils in turning them to paints to do hand prints or colouring, they love them. Excellent colours a top quality product. I would recommend getting the sharpener if you can too as they are bigger than normal pencils and this is again perfect for children's small hands

Purchased this set for adult daughter and me after using Woodies bought for grandsons. Love the additional colors in this over the 10 set. Playing and experimenting at this point. Great for mixed media. I know why children prefer them over crayons. They are creamy and have great color which blends nicely.

Finally got to use these yesterday, bought some for my Mum too and we used them!!! They are amazing!!! Smooth, no clumps and awesome to work with!!! Highly recommend!

I'd been thinking for a long while to get some Woodys and finally did, they are great.

Love that the colour pencils are easy to grip and have intense colour! The set also comes with a sharpener and paintbrush, and the price is definitely much cheaper even with the prime delivery than the sets sold in singapore! the kids i bought them for absolutely loved it! No complains from the parents so far so I assume the pencil marks can be cleaned easily! :)

Ma fille de deux ans adore ces crayons. Ils sont de bonnes qualités, s'efface à l'eau facilement. On peut écrire sur toute les surfaces, pas de soucis pour nettoyer.Elle les utilise depuis ses un an, et j'en ai toujours pas racheter depuis, durée de vie incroyable
