Very good quality audio for the price
I'm using this microphone to record drums and piano (not at the same time). The sound quality of this mic far exceeds that of your cell phone/camera's internal mics. I'm very pleased with the audio recordings I have been able to make with this mic.Recording Drums:Setting this on a tripod about 4 feet behind the drummer and about 5.5 feet high, this is able to record the drums with a very nice "in the room" sound (as opposed to every drum being individually mic'd). One thing I like about this mic is that it captures dynamics/volume changes very well. Some cheaper mics make a quieter sound feel like it's further away, and this mic does not do that. It does a fantastic job at capturing the thump and bass of the ...bass drum, and it does a really good job capturing the high-frequency details in the cymbals. Just about every kind of music compression smooshes the high frequency range of cymbals and looses so much detail. This mic is able to capture the wonderful dynamics and all the different sounds a cymbal makes. So for recording drums, this is a great mic!Recording Piano:I simply set this mic (with the included stand) on the piano. The audio this mic captured of the piano was far superior to that of a cell phone or other built-in camera mic. The recording was slightly boomy for a piano, but I'm pretty sure that is due to the mic being in direct contact with the piano. It still sounds much better than the other camera's mics. I will probably have to get a long neck mic stand to properly mic the piano. As far as the sound though, this mic sounds the most like "sitting at the piano" sound I've captured with any of my consumer-grade cameras and mics. For the price, this is amazing.Tripod attachments:(See picture)The built-in holder for this mic has both 5/8" and 1/4" threading to screw onto a tripod. The 5/8" is closest to the bottom (visible in the product pics), and the 1/4" threads are recessed about 1/4". All of my 1/4" camera tripod screws were too short to reach the threads on this mic, but Ihad a longer screw in the garage, and was able to use that to attach the mic to a tripod. The included stand fits the 5/8" thread, and screws on nicely and securely. The stand has rubber feet that prevent vibrations from entering the mic.The rubber washers want to escape! The mic has two rubber washers recessed into the 5/8" section of the mount. These washers provide the resistance needed to keep the included tripod stand nice and secure. Without the washers, the included stand doesn't tighten properly, and the mic spins freely. I only bring this up because the washers love to fall out, and you need to be very aware of them whenever you unscrew the stand/tripod mount.Overall:This is a great mic at the price point. It sounds really good and is super easy to use. Just plug it into a laptop with USB, and you're set - no drivers to install or anything.

Decent if your on a budget
I would personally use this for podcasting, streaming, or speech recordings as its decently cheap, has a good connection via usb c, input can be from multi angles, and the overall playback I have personally heard is of decent quality. Nothing sparkles or shines as the best in any way but if you got a smaller budget and need a 2-in-1 universal mic on the go... then maybe this is your kick. On the bright side its easy to use, set up and looks great :)

A lightweight Yeti alternative!
This is an excellent alternative to the Yeti, for several reasons. The sound quality is comparable, and with a higher sampling rate. This may not matter to most people, but it still matters. If you find yourself using this mic for more professional purposes down the road, you'll be happy it's capable of it.Let's face it, the biggest reason to get this mic over the Yeti may also be the biggest reason you want to avoid it. It's incredibly lightweight. Do you feel like weight equates to build quality? In some ways, it does, but having had a Yeti die on me in the past, I can tell you all that extra metal in the outer shell doesn't do squat to make the internals better. Still, the weight can be nice. Let's summarize it like this:Will you be leaving it sitting on your desk, and want a heavy mic to stay in place?Get the Yeti.Do you want to mount it to a mic arm?For the love of all that's good in the world, get this one.Do you want a mic with a higher sampling rate that you can move on and off your desk easily between recordings? This one.Happy to finally see proper competition in this price range.Highly recommended.

Good Audio but Cheap Stand
My teenage son is a gamer who sometimes makes video content about gaming. He's had several microphones and says that this one has pretty good sound quality. The only problem he had was the stand is cheap and weak. It fell apart pretty quickly - within months. He was able to keep it going for a bit longer by figuring out a way to repair it. Within 5 months, however, the stand was useless. For $100, I'd expect a mic to last much longer. To recap, the sound quality is comparable to a Yeti, but the stand is not. If you use it lightly this might work for you, but if you use it a lot you might want to invest in a Yeti.

Very portable USB Microphone
My standard USB microphone for audio and studio recording of YouTube videos is the Blue Yeti microphone. However, that microphone is large, clunky, and uses an outdated plug. But I endure it because the sound quality is good. However, I wanted to try the JLAB USB microphone for the very reason it is smaller, portable, and had various directional sound recording options. Because this is a lower-priced microphone, I am not surprised that it did not have an input gain setting. My normal recording setup is my phone with a USB-C interface using Open Camera app. I am happy to report that this microphone uses the modern USB-C microphone. Ideally, I would have a USB-C to USB-C cable but I was able to use it with an addon adapter.I did a few test recordings and the recording came out nice. Not quite as nice as the Blue Yeti but good enough for me to prefer it for compact, portability purposes. That short desktop metallic tripod is really nice to have. It is not a plastic tripod. I just hate carrying my Blue Yeti around and prepared to leave it behind when traveling.Cosmetically, there are some adjustable color LED light options to play with.Overall, I give the JLAB microphone 5-stars for the overall value, the features it includes, and it's portability. And the sound quality is good enough for my purposes.

Great Value with Awesome Sound
I have used this mic for a few months now and I have to say that I really like it! It looks very professional when I am in online calls and I have had people comment on how clear the audio sounds compared to microphones that I have used before. I do have a few higher end mics that I directly compared it too and overall I think this microphone held up great! I am very satisfied with this product and would happily recommend it to a friend.
