Kitchen Aid K5AB Flat Beater For K5 [Discontinued]

I inherited my mom's 1970s KitchenAid. Yay me! Unfortunately, her paddle was well used and riddled with cracks in the ceramic. I found this paddle and it fit perfectly and works well.

The beater is new and functional. My old one has been chipped due to my fumbling and letting it hit the floor. Having a new-old-stock replacement is terrific, and the fit is perfect. Worth it.

Difficulty finding the correct size. Will worth the search!

Was worried about finding the correct one because everything was sold out on the KitchenAid website, and I have an old mixer. It works perfect and passed the dime test after some screw adjustments. Another 20 years here we come!

I inherited my mom's kitchen aide stand mixer from way back. She passed away in 2015, but I hadn't brought myself to using the mixer. She made the best Dominican cake, and the mixer has withstood the test of time. Except for this one attachment. The original that came with the mixer had started losing its coating, some had chipped away. I decided to try to replicate my mom's cake. So it was time to dust off the mixer, and get to it. It was pretty close, I have to say...but now I needed to order a new attachment, because I couldnt see myself using the original again. The new one arrived and it fit perfectly! I'm so happy that I was able to find the part! I can't wait to start baking again, and continue my mom's tradition! (Sorry for the story, I couldn't find another way to express how great it was to have found the attachment, especially because of it being one the first models to come out.) So worth the price, and it's the same original model. I wanted to also mention that my mixer is the one that has a handle that lifts the bowl, not the tilt model.

I purchased this beater attachment to replace my original kitchenaid beater attachment that had the white silicon coating coming off. For YEARS I had used the beater with bare metal touching the food, until I was told there were lead issues with kitchenaid mixers. Finally choosing to be on the safe side, I purchased this replacement. Now I have the exact same problem with this paddle. Without knowing what the exposed metal beneath is, I don't feel safe using it in my kitchen. Maybe I just have to purchase a new one every year, which is VERY disappointing not to mention expensive.

Although it felt like an expensive purchase at the time, I love how nice it is to use. My original beater for the KitchenAid went all grey and ugly with dark colour coming off on light batters. Disappointed that KitchenAid went so cheap in making the original beater. This one should be standard with all KitchenAids. Its well worth the purchase!

Kitchen aid is an excellent product, long lasting as we use our mixer daily, had our old one for years but the coating was wearing out, ordered one day delivered the next. Brilliant
