A lovely brew - apparently!
What do you get your Dad, the man who had everything he wants, who tells you I don’t need or want anything for Christmas? Yet the bloke that when taken out for a cuppa, sits there and constantly tells you, “oh that’s a proper cup of tea, it’s because it’s not in a bag and the leaves are able to mix with the water better.”Yep, a selection of loose leaf teas. Dad has tried all of the flavours and brands I bought him and these are in his top 3 of favourite ones. From Non Tea Drinking Daughter, often feeling frustrated when it comes to the festive season because I can’t and won’t buy “nothing” as a gift. So each year I have to think further out of the box for different present ideas. But review is also from myself now delighted that he actually was happy and glad of this gift - especially as his birthday is in February and he drinks a lot of tea so will be purchasing these again for him.

Nice..but the price.
Firstly, the expiry date on the pack I received was nice & long being 30/11/24...That's a good two years at time of writing. The leaves are quite large & look rolled up until brewed where they then look like small chopped pieces of leaves..(see pics)...though I did end up with some tiny bits making it through my strainer. The tea strainer in my pic is perfect for one cup & fits perfectly inside a standard mug with room for the tea to brew btw!Being a breakfast tea, I expected a strong cup...I would say it's moderately strong & you'd definitely find it strong if you're a run of the mill tea drinker..I mean all the rubbish we were brought up with...Typhoo...PG...etc etc...But I'm a Yorkshire tea drinker & being a strong cuppa..any tea has its work cut out in comparison...So yes it's on the stronger side but not as strong as my regular. I did also use one & a half teaspoons per mug. There's no real bitterness present..it's nice & smooth...& the taste does linger in your mouth after each sip has gone down. Oh yes...the taste...I must have weird taste buds...there's constant references to this tasting malty...I found it had an overall taste that reminded me of honey..which isn't a bad thing. I had two mugs in a row & did find after the second one that maybe the taste..albeit nice...may be a bit too much as a main tea for me...perhaps now & again as a change...because as I said..it IS nice...but it's just as well given the price...it's a little eye watering? For me..it's a nice cuppa....it would be an occasional change from my regular...given the price....& if you're a regular drinker of teas marked at this price....you can keep your caviar that will no doubtedly would go with it. Loose tea in general though...no bleached teabags containing plastics..(ok not all)....we should all be drinking loose tea regardless.

Great Tea!
It was great, Don’t usually buy loose leaf tea, but i have to say this one was amazing, the packaging it came in was a nice little tin that is perfect for storing in the kitchen, made a few cups for the whole family very easy to make instructions are clear. saw a review saying that it wasn’t strong enough but i assume they didn’t leave itfor long enough as i used the recommended amount for a cup and the recommended time and mine was perfect, whole family approves! i tried some with and without milk and was pleasantly surprised that it was brill both times will defiantly buy again!!

A delightful cuppa!
A very quick delivery which arrived before expected so all good there 😊Simply put, the tea is lovely, refreshing and in my opinion well worth the cost, much nicer than your supermarket brands, enough said!

A bit weak with a wishy-washy taste and grey in colour.
I had high hopes for this whole-leaf tea. It came nicely packaged, with the leaves sealed in an airtight plastic bag within a cute small tin.It was clear to see this was full-leaf and not like the standard chopped loose-leaf tea we normally use.The teapot I was using was a 1½ cup version with a built-in strainer, so I upped the suggested measure to a full coffee scoop portion: more like a tablespoon.Brewed with scolding water straight from a boiling kettle and mashed for a full 5 minutes, with the pot kept warm on the Aga top while brewing. The teapot is glass so it was immediately obvious that the depth of colour was not as dark as I hoped for or imagined.I take very little milk in tea perhaps 4ml -5ml but this just turned the tea grey in colour! There was little taste to the tea and no sense of the malty flavour claimed. In fact this tea was not as good as the mass-market breakfast tea made in Yorkshire, that I would normally drink. So not as good as normal loose-leaf tea and represents considerably less value for money.I will increase the amount of tea leaves tomorrow and give it another go. If there is an improvement I will edit this review upward.Edit: I found that by using 4 tsp in a 1½ cup teapot it did taste of tea but the colour was not deep and with a touch of milk still had a grey tinge.

A lovely loose tea!
This is a loose leaf black tea supplied in a tin. The tin is 100g so you get a good amount although it is a more expensive option than teabags. However it is a lovely, refreshing tasting tea and even though it isn’t as simple as putting a teabag in a cup it tastes great and well worth the little bit more time spent on making it.Overall it’s a great breakfast tea and comes in a lovely tin. There are instructions written on the packaging but it is basically as you would make a typical cup of loose leaf tea. All in all I’m happy with the quality and taste.
