Best gift ever!
My 4-yo son loved this toy! It did so well in developing his fine motor skills. Not to mention the time he spent playing with it, concentrating on it. He saw me quite often working on screws and assembling or fixing things at home. He really feels like a hand-man or even a construction worker. It is worth it to say that the parts are all safe, with no sharp ends or anything like that.

Great toy, solid construction!
My 3 year old (and husband haha) loved this toy. Lots of pieces to play with, solid wood, and the best part — it makes no music or annoying sounds!

Leaves a little to be desired
It’s pretty good, the pieces are all metal and screw into the board. Mine came with additional and duplicate screws and bolts (assuming some may get lost). While it’s a nice idea, it actually makes it harder to keep track of the pieces. The tools are of mixed quality, the Allen wrenches are solid and the screw driver, the wrench leaves much to be desired, think of a cheap wrench you get with roller skates things like that. The board is built very solid though and the pieces fit nicely. One odd part to me though is that anything threaded takes a bit of experience, patience and practice I’m not sure about the age range. I have a 3 yr and 7 year old who uses it, and they are monitored and assisted. These can EASILY get cross threaded and then you are out of a spot. I think maybe replacing some of the assorted bolts etc that came in it would be a better idea, could probably get some from the hardware store.Seems quite durable too, and it does come with a small back to store everything in it. There’s a couple spots on the board to store the tools and spare parts, one bump though and they are on the floor, don’t ask me how I know that..

Good for fine motor work and tool introduction
Items come in a colorfully marked box, which makes it good for gifting. It includes tools, various screws/bolts and a burlap bag to hold everything. I prefer storing in the box for stacking purposes, but the items were very tightly packed in the box, so I struggled to get everything back in.The allen wrenches and phillips screwdriver are hearty. The wrench is thin and cheap. While it will turn a bolt, it is loose and slips off easily. This is the most challenging tool to use and will likely cause frustration...even for older kids/adults. I was disappointed to realize that there is not a flathead screwdriver. All of the bolts/screws can be screwed in by hand, without the need for the actual tool. The boat has handy slots to hold the tools/bolts/screws while in use. I would not keep the items in there for storage, as there is no lid to hold the items in. For storage, I would suggest utilizing the little zip lock bags they come in.I purchased this for my teenage son with autism, to work on his fine motor skills. While I could see him boring of this quickly, it is also a safe way to introduce him to tools that he may need to use in the future. While the description states it is for 3 year olds, I would not allow it without constant supervision, due to small pieces. I would say this is more for 5 years old and above. The price point seems a bit high, but I would definitely recommend for kids who are interested in tool use. I also recommend for occupational therapists doing fine motor therapies.

Screwdriver practice for kids
This is a cute look with the boat style. Unfortunately, there are many small parts. Not safe for toddlers that are still putting objects in their mouths. The areas where you are to do the practice is very close together and difficult to maneuver, even with small hands. If the boat was bigger, that would help.

Busy hands, busy minds.
I really love this educational toy for my little one. It is made of pretty solid wood, has smooth round edges, colors are vibrant and the tools seem very well made. My little one was excited since he likes any type of vehicle and he has never played with this type of toy before so I knew he would be intrigued. He was so into it that he didn't want any help, he insisted on doing it all by himself and was quite proud of his accomplishment. This is such a vital tool for kids who may be struggling or just learning hand eye coordination, fine motor skills and the basic concept of trial and error. When the tool my little one was using did not fit the hole on the top of the screw, he had to figure out which one worked. It taught him some patience and took enough of his time and attention away from his usual toys. I'm glad it was enough to keep his attention and interest for a while. This toy will help in continuing to develop his emerging skills. This toy is a winner.

Fun for a few minutes
I got this toy for when the 3-yr old Grand comes to visit. My husband likes to have “teachable” playtime so I thought this would be a good activity / toy for them to share. It was great for that bonding experience. My husband enjoyed sharing the name of each part, the proper way to use / hold, and letting the Grand have hands-on practice. Although the attention span of a 3-yr old is currently not very long, I anticipate this being something the Grand will ask for next time and my husband will have another “lesson” even if it just lasts a few minutes. One additional note: After getting back home, our Grand saw an Allen Wrench and said one of those was at the “work station” … a big one and a little one. The Grand was paying attention, learning, recognized something when seen in another context, and quality time was spent together. Mission accomplished! This toy may not be something a child would want to play with every single day but it is a starter for bigger and better things and that makes me happy.
