Great for finer detail in a pastel drawing!
Able to add finer details to a soft pastel drawing and as the pencils are also pastel, they are blendable too! The tin is a little loose and not sturdy so be careful if standing up on its side, otherwise great quality!

I'll stick with carbothello
They have nice deep colour but are very very dusty lol compared to carbothello pastel pencils these are 5x dustier and even if you blow of what you think is all the dust theres so much left its unreal, I broke a pencil twice trying to sharpen it so I suggest a craft knife and sandpaper to keep a point which if I'm honest wont last long as they are so crumbly the point lasts about 3 seconds of detail then its back on the sandpaper lol, the carbothello pencils are much better in all respects I only got these to try before buying a big set so glad I did now. They blend really well and layer nicely but thats about it, if they wasn't so crumbly/dusty they would be perfect but they are so there not lol.

Absolutely beautiful colours.
These conte pastel pencils are so smooth and effective. The colours are intense and the collection of colours covers all uses. Very good value for money and lovely to use.

Soft and buttery
Real nice colours, soft and buttery. The only downside is the larger packs 48 come in a box and are not padded inside so cores wee damaged w when delivered. However these are my favourite

Not for me!
I didn’t expect Conte a Paris Pastel Pencils to be of the same quality of Carbothello’s or Caran d’Ache..... The pencils themselves are thick - too thick. Colour-wise, if they were a little softer the coverage would be better. That said, once the colour is down they blend easily. I guess for the price they’re ok, just not for me.

Nice tin full of a good colour combination
Gorgeous tin full of great Colour combinations. Being new to pastels I opted to buy these instead of the more expensive brands as I didn't want to pay a huge amount of money on something I might not use often enough to warrant a big spend. All the colours are beautiful and I use them for whimsical faces rather than watercolor. I used a good quality pastel paper as they don't do well on cheaper grade paper as they end up looking too grainy and don't blend well. overall they are a good quality and easy to get the hang of.
