Simply a great attachment for your Optimate. I bought this to keep my car charged "conveniently" after buying and fitting a hard wired dash cam (meaning its pulling a current all the time, even in park mode)I discovered this after my interior lights, coming home lights etc stopped working about 6mths after fitting the dashcam, after running a VCDS diagnostic report on the car, I discovered the error "03041 - Energy Management Active". Audi's go into this mode when it determines that the battery is discharged/faulty.This adapter allows me to charge my car via the cigarette/cigar lighter socket rather than lifting the bonnet, locating the earth point and the positive battery terminal point and getting hands dirty each time its used.I have an A6 Avant which has a 12v socket in the tailgate, I reverse the car to the house and feed the cable through the window and give the battery a boost overnight or longer.****One things to note here which is very important for use on cars, ensure that your 12v socket remains live even when ignition is off, some brands of cars auto shut down this socket after several minutes.

I have an Optimate 4 battery charger/optimiser, but was surprised it didn't come with a din type cable since most modern motorcycles are fitted with a din socket these days!The cable fits perfectly with the Optimate output cable, the only thing I struggled with was removing the red adapter cap ( Due to arthritis in my hands) on the end which allows it to fit a normal car type 12 auxiliary port.

If, like me, your motorbike spends vastly more time tucked up in the garage than tearing up the road, you will probably have a trickle charger. My bike, though, being over 20 years old (1996 triumph tiger) doesn't have a cigar type socket so I've always had to leave the seat off but no more! I bought a socket that clips to the bars, and one of these to plug into it. Ta daa! Easy connection every time I put the bike in the garage. The item is very robust and comes with a red adapter so it can fit the full-size or the mini sockets.

Great adaptor for my existing charger. Used to keep my Caterham battery fully charged via the aux socket thus saving the need to take off the bonnet and storing it while the battery is on charge

It fits lovely in my car cigarette lighter then I can plug my extension cable into great stuff

Great item, but dont do what I did! I bought this to save time in installing the battery connection on my FJR, and hooking this to the 12v auxilliary port. DONT! It messes up the electrics and can damage the bikes electrical components.But I have read it works on a lot of bikes, so please check with your bike manual or people who know your models electrical system.

The adapter arrived in good time, and cost about what I would expect to pay. It's a useful addition to the Optimate 4 since it can also be used in the DIN socket on my motorcycle (the truth is, that's what I bought it for - my Optimate isn't can-bus friendly, so I can't use it on the car anyway)Well worth having, making the battery charger that bit moere versatile.

It does the job.
