These looked lovely and were fun to do, but they did need sealer as they were sticky when finished.

These coasters are decent enough to use as well as to make, attach the gems to, providing a little understanding and additional sealant is applied.Please see the photosEach of the coaster designs are well thought out and are easily identifiable with their numbers, for the correct gems to use. The gems are well made, the odd one not formed correctly or only half coloured. The stickiness of the backing on the coaster is strong and the gems do adhere.A good tip is to use a rolling pin after finishing a mat that will press them further down on to the coaster as well as evening any gem that is slightly raised.The coasters themselves are not overly thick, but do seem solid and decent enough in how they are made.A problem tho with this type of design is that the adhesive part for the gems to stick to applies to the entire coaster. That might not seem to be an issue but, over a short time, you will find fluff, crumbs and other bits sticking to the coaster as the adhesive is still present between the gems.We resolved that by having a spray can of clear sealant and using it to seal the gems more firmly as well as applying a clear coat of varnish. Without doing that AND using the coaster for both hot and cold drinks it will dislodge the occasional gem.Since applying the clear sealant the coasters are great.So, reviewing the coasters as they are sold I would rate them as a low 4 star product due to the overall stickiness and the gems that do come loose if the coaster is going to be used often.The pen supplied is of reasonable quality, nothing special. The sticky pad is typical in the amount and usefulness that you would expect.Even being 4 stars I would still cautiously recommend these coasters if you are aware of their limitations and how to resolve them.We have enjoyed making them, the end result and the brightness and colour of the gems included.I do hope this review has helped you.

Bought for someone who loves crafts and needed to keep occupied whilst waiting for surgery. Did the trick and they look lovely.

Great idea for gifts, lovely when finished very sparkly, enjoyed doing them and giving away as gifts. Very impressed.

When finished these mats are very pretty.They are easy to do and enjoyable for passing the time. Lovely colours,I can recommend these to others who like 5d embroidery kits.

These are really nice mats. The patterns and colours are lovely, it's an easy and quick project to do.However the design is flawed, unlike most diamond painting where the diamonds meet edge to edge, these are a mix of diamonds and a painted pattern. This means as the whole mat is a sticky glue, the bits that aren't covered with a diamond remain sticky therefore not much use as dust, fluff and a whatever is about sticks to it. So unless you are going to add a sealant then they are pretty much useless as a mat.

These coasters are simple to follow, great for feeling creative.They are great to focus on, I find if I can’t focus I usually put the film back over it gently and come back to it another time.Great tool to use for a mindful activity.I would say there are two downsides:1: they require a sealant to be completely useful and to not damage the gems.2: the bags of gems are not resealable (I ended up using sandwich bags!)
