Description
- In the imagery of ancient Egypt, the eye of Udjat is a protective symbol representing the Eye of the falcon god Horus.
- Egyptologists generally consider that the figuration of the Udjat Eye is a hybrid of the human eye and the Falcon's eye: It combines parts of the human eye, the conjunctiva, the pupil and the eyebrow, presumably the spots below the eye are of the Falcon.
- The Udjat eye had a magical function linked to the prophylaxis, the restoration of completeness and the vision of the "invisible". It was represented on the sarcophagi and on the pectorals.
- The term "third eye" simply indicates that the person is a medium and has a faculty to feel things. It seems more related to an intelligence quotient or a very rich DNA than to a faculty that could be discovered during his life with exercises or meditation.
