Topsy and Tim: Start School Paperback – 2 April 2009

A perfect little book for a child preparing to start school.

Lovely sweet accurate story. Daughter absolutely loves it. She likes me to read it and change the names from Topsy and Tim, to her own name and her friends name, as she is lucky to know a couple of children in the new class. The book does keep referring to familiar children that Topsy and Tim already know ... Not all children know someone that's going to be in the class, and there will be no familiar faces for a lot of children, so that's my only point I'd mention that's a negative one.

I bought this for my 4 year old a couple of months before starting school. She loves the characters Topsy and Tim and she has asked for this book over and over again (even since starting school last Monday). Good illustrations and story and a clear description of what happens at school. It even includes Topsy feeling a bit wobbly about her first day, so at least the children know that is normal if they feel that way too. It has a puzzle at the back which my daughter loves doing. Would thoroughly recommend this and also Starting School by Allan Ahlberg.

Book was listed as used - very good. The condition is brilliant. Will be a lovely book to read with my granddaughter for a couple of years.

My little boy starts school in September, so I wanted a book that would explain to him what will happen when he goes. This book ticked all the boxes. It is written in a cheerful and positive style, and has made him start asking questions about his new adventure. I didn't want a complicated step-by-step guide to the school day, I thought this would just make him more nervous. I just wanted a simple story about the main facts, in order to prepare him for his first day. This book delivered just that....perfect.

Good book for children starting school.
