BANDAIHobby Star Wars 1/72 A-Wing Starfighter Building Kit

This A-wing will be the ninth fully completed model that I have had the extreme geek filled pleasure of building from Bandai, and with this being the newest addition to an already great line up they seem to be going from strength to strength. If you are on the fence about these products then fall forward and take the plunge, they have been meticulously created so that they are not only straight forward for people of all skill levels to build but also the immense attention to detail is outstanding and these guys at Bandai should be proud at what they have created for us.This A-wing is one of the easiest builds out of the nine other that I've put together so far, but for anyone looking to buy these kits then I highly recommend that you invest in the following;A craft knife for smoothing edges and separating pieces from the plastic housingBlue Spot Soft Grip Precision Knife SetA good set of slant tip tweezers, these are highly recommended for the stickers that need to be applied after the build as many are very small and the tweezers just make positioning a lot easier plus you lessen the risk of destroying the fiddly stickers.Pathfinder Technologies ® Professional Quality Titanium Tweezers with Slanted Tip Manicure Pedicure. Comes with a Pathfinder life time guarantee !Side cutter pliers are a must!!, without these cheeky chaps you will run the risk of snapping some of the smaller pieces of plastic, the pliers allow you to separate away from the plastic housing and then wiggle the part away without damaging the piece or surrounding pieces.Rolson 20605 Pliers Set - 3 PiecesThe next item is not an essential but if you look at the pictures I've attached you will be able to see a lot more detail from the plastic that would normally not be seen, especially some of the panel lines or groves in the plastic. This is thanks to the addition of Tamiya black panel line accent which I apply to the sheets of plastic before the parts have even been snapped off for building. Once the panel line has settled I use cotton wool cue tips dipped in a small amount of enamel paint thinner to wipe away any excess with the added benefit that the cue tip will glide over the surface and will leave the paint in between the lines for added definition.This A-wing took me around 3 hours all in due to the level of detail that i was looking to get from the panel line work, although you should be able to knock this up without any hassle in just over an hour. Can't recommend these kits enough for anyone who is passionate about Star Wars and who enjoys model kits this is a match made is Dagobah!!

This is one amazing model kit!,it is very easy to put together( though kids would need an adult to help) and when completed looks so much like the clones from the movies,after you build you can put stickers or water decals on the figure,you also assemble the weapons which are great BTW.As you may already know from previous bandai star wars reviews the instructions are in Japanese but don't worry you just follow the step by step guide in pictures & numbers,letters etc,trust me you can make this model and you will be glad you did in the end.It also comes with a black square display base that the left foot fits tightly.This is miles better than the star wars black series version & you get the phase 1 and 2 helmets so you can have a bit of a change now & again!....or you could do what I did,buy 2!.

I have to say it again "Bandai rocks" this models are the best one out there by mile so if you are looking for any star wars modeling this is your thing. These models are so well made that no glue is required!!! And i font mean they are simple far from it. It is simply fact that moulding quality of these seta is 5*

Fantastic amount of detail and options to weather as much as you like and your skill will allow. I would have hoped for the rear fuselage and engines to have a few more pieces so aid in weathering but the detail there is still superb.

Incredibly versatile figure which you can Customize easily I've painted and added effects to mine to make him how I wanted him fantastic model I would definitely buy again very accurate to the movies!!

Well now I've ordered two of these it's only right I say how much I love these models. They not only are nice when assembled but they taught me to take my time and enjoy something for a change and i strongly advise you do the same. May the force be with you all!

The best so far, kit fits together tightly and the joints are amazing. Somehow this feels heavier too which makes it feel more premium. Additionally you can swap and change between phase I and phase II head sculpts which is just great. Sorry figuarts but these figures are so much better, cheaper and being able to build the figures is just so much fun! Nuff said.

I have a keen feeling that give it a couple years and these things will be going for like $100 a piece. They are the DEFINITIVE Clone Trooper model kit and are well worth the purchase.

By now, anyone who has purchased and Bandai Star Wars model kit will know just how detailed and refined these little models are. The only criticism I always have of these is the smallish size of all the kits; but that’s something that Bandai may not be in full control of due to licensing restrictions. ‘If’ they ever were able to produce these models on a larger scale, it would be a wonder indeed. The detailing and spectacular and the accuracy is highly impressive. With a professional paint job, these can pretty much resemble the film models. The A-Wing is one of my personal favorites; it’s a nice compact and attractive design, with a cool color scheme. As with all model kits, they will look much better with paint and a nice finish.

Excelente figura con mucho detalle y buena articulación, fácil y entretenido de armar. Además tiene el mismo tamaño que los clones de Black Series.

Simple a monter. Il y a des pieces en couleurs. Par contre, ils ont oublier l'ovale noire a l'arriere. Sur la maquette, il y a la 4 tuyeres. A peindre en noire. La combinaison du pilote est verte foncée. Le cockip est noir et gris. Il faut appuyer fortement sur le bas du vaisseau pour le fixer. Finesse par bandai. Pas de colle.

It's super tiny, yet manages more detail than a much larger A-Wing kit I built in the past. You need to paint this kit, it will look like a cheap hunk of plastic if you just slap it together.
