Great Little Moped
I bought this to be my transportation since I've been out a car for a year. I've had one before and I was dumb and it was stolen. There's a little assembly required and it doesn't come with any instructions but it was easy enough to find a youtube video to help with that. Trunk lock's pretty cheap and needs work to lock it up, and it apparently collects water in a little rain, but it's still useful. Happy to learn and tinker on it myself so repairs go smoothly when needed, it's way cheaper than a car and easier to learn about for a newbie. If you act like it's a cheap alternative, like it is, you won't be so rattled by every little thing not being completely perfect. Excellent for the cost.

speedy delivery, responsive seller, all's well so far
Seller was prompt and courteous. The scooter arrived just 8 days after placing my order. The model I received has some improvements over the standard Taotao - LED headlight, preinstalled single-piece centerstand, nicer alloy wheels and a sealed battery. Build quality is better than I was anticipating. One or two stripped bolts in the plastic should not come as a surprise if you've done your homework; the reality is that any new vehicle at such a low price will have been manufactured with as little human intervention as possible. If you are willing to check things over and take care of a few finishing touches, you will have a decent ride at an excellent value. If that is beyond your skillset, it would be worthwhile to have a local shop ensure that all is as it should be. The YouTube channel "49ccScoot" has a great video series detailing the assembly and inspection process - search for "taotao pdi" on their channel. Be sure to change the oil before you go riding around, and check the level by lowering the dipstick into the case without screwing it back in. Screwing it back in before you remove it to check will lead to underfilling!SmartDealsNow seems to be the most reputable online seller from the research I've done, and I'm glad I made the choice to go with them.

Next to impossible to assemble
They provide no tools or instructions. It’s flimsy and next to impossible to assemble. It’s a piece of junk.

Chinese moped: Nerve-wracking assembly
Specifically, my moped came with minor factory scratches on the body, one of the front forks was installed backward at the factory, the mirrors don't stay in place, the threads were stripped at the factory, and there were a few other minor issues. However, after spending a week identifying the problems, assembling it daily, and going through a lot of nerves and effort, the moped turned out to be quite good. Thank God at least there were no problems with the electrics.

Perfect. 2 months later, not so good
Just what I needed. It arrived in excellent condition and runs good. It has all the equipment as a motor cycle such as lights, turn signals and tag light. All I need now are rear view mirrors. It is February how and the county tag agency requires an affidavit, the letter head, from the store. They do not respond.

100%
I can't be happier with this purchase and experience. It was as simple as it could be. Even better than what I expected in all honesty. I would recommend to anyone that if you're looking to buy a scooter, this is your last stop. Thanks for making it an easy experience.

Absolutely BS support
A family member (a actual mechanic) and I put together my son's moped and the front fender but at the fork on the bike where you connect said fender is warped. I contacted support to ask how we correct this, they were more worried about the mechanic than the issue at hand. Talk about no accountability.... I get that the moped was manufactured in China but why can't there be some quality control over their products. Why would they dodge the problem at hand? Probably because they don't want to take accountability for flawed products.
