These are fine. You need to take them apart (pull hard to do this) and put the metal spring aside to wash them. Make sure they're 100% dry before use. When you use the cutters, push down and twist it against the surface to prevent a frilly edge around the stars. Nor a quick job to make loads but this is the same for other plastic versions that I have tried.

Bought these cutters for cutting shapes from ceramic clay not cake icing, so I don't know what they would be like for cake decorating. Was a bit tricky to get the clay off the cutter, but overall they worked ok, although I think metal cutters would be better.

I bought this to decorate my first homemade Christmas cakeThis item was perfect for what I needed it for, it was easy to use, just line it up and press the plunger in then it comes away with the icing already in shape. As you release the plunger, your ivy shaped piece of icing will be overhanging slightly so can be peeled off quite easily. It wasn't overly difficult to clean either and they're quite small so storage isn't much of an issue.There are 3 sizes in a pack so you're bound to find at least 1 that suits your needs, I used all 3 on my cake and none had any faults.It's quite expensive if you're only looking to get 1 or 2 uses from it but once it's in the cupboard, it will last a long time so value for money just comes down to usage I'd say. If you're after a decent ivy cutter, I would say this will tick your boxes

Great just what I needed for granddaughter birthday.

Handy little cutters, press down hard to make sure they cut through the icing/pastry then press to push out the holly leaves, it took me a couple of tries to get it right but they do work well, just rinse under warm water or I put mine on the top tray of the dishwasher.

Three plunger tools with three different messages ("Love", "Thank you" and "Best wishes").I used them for making cupcake toppers but it took me a while as even after dusting them with icing sugar the fondant icing kept getting stuck in the small holes of letters. I had to use a toothpick constantly to clean them but even that became difficult after some time. Soaking them in soapy water should clean them.But the sizes are perfect for cupcakes and you can mix and match the sizes and messages if you don't want a square "thank you" for instance.Overall, I would recommend.
