Inexpensive acoustic foam
This is priced well and it gets the job done. I'm using it to line a small network enclosure which I have my homelab with my NAS in to reduce the noise. It has definitely helped and I also have the entire network enclosure sitting on a few layers of this stuff too to prevent the vibrations from the enclosure from going in to the table top that it's sitting on. If you're not looking for anything super professional grade then this is a great solution which is priced well. I'll definitely buy more of this stuff in the future if I need it.

Perfect and inexpensive
It's thin but does the job, plus I expected it to be thin because I read the description. To install: I'm experienced with these products as I have a studio. You DON'T have or need to apply any spray adhesive MUCH LESS on your WALL. To remove them, you'll destroy your wall, the paint plus the drywall coating will rip apart.INSTEAD, use a Surtape brand double sided adhesive roll (see pictures) by applying the tape on a black cardboard (found in most department stores in the school supply session). It also does not need to be the exact size of the acoustic foam. Note that 2' of each foamon ↕️ orientation will stay a tad outside the cardboard foam area since the cardboard is not 2' tall which is no problem, and on the ↔️ orientation, in a sequence of 2 x 6 foams signed, you can cut the 3rd piece cardboard and tape them with each other to exactly 6' wide. BUT before you stick the foam on the tape, apply 5 dots of hot glue to all 4 sides of each foam plus 1 dot in the center. As soon as you apply the glue, you MUST bond the foam immediately! Otherwise it will cool off in seconds. This will stay neat, pretty and FLUSH to your wall, the cardboard is also black which will blend behind and the side view.Materials:12 acoustic foams that you bought.1 Suretape Roll # 317767 / 52340A hot glue gun (also to secure the foam on the cardboard. Glue dots should be in the shape of a 5 dot dice (1 glue dot on all 4 corners plus 1 in the center)3 black cardboards (typically Elmer brand)Scissors (to cut the tape)Ruler (to mark cardboard to cut)Utility knife (to cut the 3rd cardboard to size ↔️.1 removable damage free picture hanging frame holder (to attach your built panel ON the wall and its removeable)

meaning that a sound like a hand-clap would ring for a split second
It works. It's cheap. Buy more than you think you'll need. I used this in a vocal booth of 5X8 feet. I forgot to get a few extra for the ceiling, so I'm back ordering more. Before I installed this, the booth was "clacky" sounding, meaning that a sound like a hand-clap would ring for a split second, and the vocals I recorded sounded bad, like they were recorded in a tunnel. I covered about 30% of the wall surfaces with this stuff, spreading it around with more panels near the mic and less panels further away.I do have a 3X7 foot window looking into the main studio. I carpeted the wall opposite that window to stop the ping-ponging of sound in that spot. Even with that, I was getting some early reflections that made the vocals sound awful. These panels allowed me to effectively deaden the corner where I keep the mic. The results were immediate. I now have usable vocals. Are they perfect? Not yet, as I said, because I ignored the ceiling, which I am about to remedy with this purchase. Even with that, the problematic echoes are already reduced to where most folks won't be able to hear them. Why 1 inch panels? I've worked mostly with 2 inch in the past, and they do a better job, but let's be realistic. 1 inch panels are cheaper, they fix problems, and I can cover twice the space for the same money. I'd rather cover more area with these panels than half the area with better panels. Overall, that's a better use of your money. So, I gave them 4/5 stars. They could have been a little denser, so they lose a star.I'm back buying more because they work. They're cheap. I can afford to cover lots of surface, and they have a professional look that clients appreciate.

Good deal, reduces mechanical noise/echo
I bought these to have something to reduce the sharp noises in the mechanical room in my apartment. My apartment is all hard surfaces, concrete ceilings, brick walls, big glass windows, and drywall (urban loft style in an old factory building). This is just about as prone to echos/reflection/whatever you want to call it as you an get. I put these up in the laundry/mechanical room and now the edge is taken off the sound of the washer/dryer when it's running and the HVAC forced air/blower unit is significantly quieter. I could see this being useful if you've got a kid who screams at people all day on their xbox or something, just dampen that sound from echoing through the rest of the house.Affixing these things to the walls without permanently ruining your walls is a bit of a trick. I found that duct tape can stick pretty well to the back of these foam pads, so I used duct tape to make a smooth surface at each of the 4 corners of each square, I put two-sided tape on the duct tape, then I stuck some painter's tape to the two-sided tape. That sounds ridiculous but it worked on most of them. I couldn't get the painter's tape to stick to a couple tiles so I used duct tape to tape the painter's tape to the duct tape. It's just enough to hold the tiles in place and I can remove them without ruining the paint. I don't recommend using double-sided tape directly on the foam tiles as it had barely any adhesive hold for me.If you're having trouble getting tape of whatever kind to stick to the tile, try brushing the surface of the tile off a few times with your hand. There's some very fine foam particle remnants on the tile or something which, when removed, leaves a more sturdy substrate for the tape to adhere to. Basically if the tape doesn't stick get some fresh tape and try it one or two more times, just to remove the tiny loose bits of foam.

On the cheaper side, but gets the job done
If you're a college student looking to put these in your room so roommates don't hear you, then don't even bother wasting your time buying these unless you plan on buying a lot of them. Gets the job done when using it for other purposes such as voice recording within a smaller room.

Lightweight and easy to handle
Lightweight and easy to handle. I work at home doing live and recorded training webinars. I wanted to cut down on the echoes from the vaulted ceilings in my office, so I applied 15 of these to the wall in front of my desk and it worked great. I didn't want them to be permanent, so I attached them with 2 push pins each, one in each of the upper corners to cover an area 5 tiles wide by 3 tiles high. They are very lightweight so they hang flat and snug. They are also easily cut with scissors so I could trim an opening for the wall phone over the desk. I had some tiles left over and will use them for various other projects, such as a shock absorber under my subwoofer, and a tiny piece between two external drives stacked on my desk to eliminated vibrations between them. From one scrap (about a 1 inch cube) I carved out a little sponge to put over my headset microphone to muffle breathing sounds when I record. I ordered two packs of 12, which came in one package. I thought they would come in two packages. I contacted the company to give them hell and they were unbelievably kind and patient with me, in spite of my snarkiness. All around, I am very pleased with this purchase, and I think you will be too.

Sound dampening, makeshift shield/reflector
Objective review/unprofessional review:For absorbing the sound - hushing the bouncing around the room when playing guitar or speaking - they're very great with this, even as a makeshift shield it works amazingly wellAs for adhesion, I used adhesive velcro strips I already had and cut them to small pieces to place at the corners to hang. They held up very well with this buf BE WARNED strong adhesives can tear the foam and also cheap paint off the wall. Never tried the foam adhesive spray so I can't vouch for it so I'd recommend doing your research firstBIGGEST MISCONCEPTION: These are not noise canceling pads. As they DO keep sounds from bouncing around so harshly, they don't block noise, they're more like sound dampening panels. They arrived on time, in great condition - fit together, they are not flat - and did their job.Definitely great for building a shield and putting up on the walls, would definitely buy again when I need to.Good luck out there

Perfect! Plus I found an easier way to install it!
I bought this acoustic foam to improve my recording quality. I was recording a considerable echo in my audio because of the way the room is. I originally used it to line a storage box ( LOHAS Home Closet Fabric Drawer,Foldable Fabric Baskets,Storage Bins (Natural) ) and create a low cost "recording booth" for my microphone (See Images).I then upgraded my set-up with a new boom arm ( NEEWER Microphone Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand ) to free up space on my desk. This then left me with having to find a way to install the foam around my new microphone location. I looked into buying the spray glue, but have heard that certain types don't always work. Plus I didn't feel like putting up with the smell for a few days. Not wanting to risk ruining the foam, I decided to try stapling the foam to an extra piece of drywall I had. It worked perfectly! Now, not only did I not ruin a wall by gluing or stapling foam to it, but I have the option to move it around if I were to move or wanted to rearrange my set-up.Overall, this foam is perfect for what I needed. I no longer have an echo and my overall audio quality has improved. I hope this review helped!

Great product for the price.
First of all, the product was exactly what it claimed to be: measured 12"x12"x1" and no cosmetic flaws. Please understand that this is not a "sound-proofing" solution. Actual sound proofing is difficult and expensive. This product is simply designed to eliminate RT-60 (or the audible reverberation) in "live" or "wet" rooms (i.e. rooms with a lot of parallel and/or hard surfaces). If you're looking to knock down and control early and late reflections you will need to cover approximately 40% of your hard surfaces. Location is the key to maximize effectiveness and deaden both early and late reflections. Think about sound waves moving through a room the same way a pool ball bounces off the rails of the table. If you want a completely "dead" or "dry" room, then plan on covering 100% of your hard surfaces. This product will not absorb sound from external sources, i.e. the neighbors lawn mower outside of your bedroom window, nor will it prevent the neighbors from having a front row seat to your teenagers drum solo. The photo's attached were something I through up on the wall in a hurry to conduct a quick sound test before I order 5,000 of these.

It's 12 pieces of foam. It does the job.
This is for the "Mybecca 12 Pack- Acoustic Panels Studio Foam Wedges 1" X 12" X 12".Amazon reviews are about if a product delivers as promised and as expected for the value. This does, 5/5 stars. You will get 3x4 feet worth of wedges. It's not a lot, but it will cover one spot or reasonable size for a reasonable price. If you have to buy more later, so what no big deal, this is the starter kit. They'll match pretty well with other foam. The trick is getting them to stay on the wall. For me it's a bit of a game. They're extremely light and if nothing touches them you'll get away with complete non-wall destroying stuff. Blue Tack, random 3M Command hangers. But if you're me you keep bumping a few and have to keep hanging. It's a never-ending story, but without any Nothing consuming the world. Just foam. Also, don't be confused, newbies. These are reasonably priced devices to prevent echoes from the wall when recording, but it's not going to keep sound out.

This is a good price. Foam is foam
A big mistake a lot of musicians/broadcasters make when purchasing acoustic foam is spending too much money. Foam is foam. It's as simple as that, spending big bucks is not going to yield any better quality. With that being said, I feel this product is fairly reasonable for it's price. I'm sure the manufacturer only spends around $0.50 making this product but compared to the other options out there, this is a good one. One thing to keep in mind before purchasing is how you will mount/support the foam onto the wall. Many people choose to buy an adhesive and spray it onto the wall, however this may cause permanent damage. I decided to simply glue the foam onto a piece of plywood and it worked great. I was even able to expand the surface area by adding bits of cardboard onto the edges of the plywood. Since everything will eventually be covered up by the foam, it doesn't really matter how you decide to mount the foam as long as it sticks. I purchased this simply for atheistics rather than trying to enhance the acoustics of my room. However, I'm sure this will get the job done in either case. Not much more to mention. Foam is foam.

For a temporary noise cancellation it will do
So far it works. It does keep out most of the noise from upstairs from coming down stairs. I'm still testing it I had to double layer it to work we glued it to the door using command strips works wonders, and keeping noise out so far. We were playing a scary game and they couldn't hear us screaming which is a plus I think maybe next time I'll be getting the 2 inch ones instead of one but this helped me test things out. It arrived faster than excepted which was very nice. It was a good buy for a temporary noise cancellation job. I don't like that when it fell down as I was putting it up. It picked up dust like it was tape, had to dust it off. Been using it for about 3 weeks now still holding strong. It's working a decent buy for the price.

Pretty much what I expected
I mean, its pretty much what I expected.12 squares, all 1ft by 1ftWhat the review asks me to rate...- Adhesion: Didn’t come with any (don’t think it claims to either).- Absorbency: Meh, it’s not thick but it helps with some of the echo in my room.- Noise Cancellation: I only have the 12 on a small wall so it doesn’t cancel any noise for me...They’re cheap so I wasn’t expecting much. I’d consider buying more later if I decide to completely cover my wall.

These are great for sound absorption of course
12square feet is a lot! You'll be surprised how many there seem to be in the delivery. Unless you're papering the walls, one order is enough for several projects. These are great for sound absorption of course, and we mounted between our open ceiling joists, above the ceiling mounted projector. They are very soft and pliable foam, so I wedged them between the joist boards and there they stayed. Being black and matte, they visually recede into the shadows. Then we took the rest to line the drawers of the camera collection storage, including dividers and packing layers. Trim them with scissors, super easy, or use a ruler to compress the foam then one clean swipe of the X-ato blade, like butter. I was about to glue the foam in the drawers, but realized the little bit of double sided tape I used for the dry-fit was holding them perfectly, job done! We used a few more pieces as packing foam for our external harddrive case
