intuitive and a real joy to navigate
I don't write reviews often, but I had been waiting three years for the right specs before upgrading my old Chinese tablet. I first fell for AMOLED screen technology in Samsung's first iteration with the tab 7.7, but the scree resolution and size weren't sufficient. So having resisted the nexus 10, the 2014 Note 10.1, and the tab pro series, I've finally got my hands on a AXA resolution OLED screen tablet with the capacity to do everything I need for the next few years. There is no doubt that this little beauty puts every LCD screen I've seen on other devices to shame. Samsung have genuinely perfected OLED - no doubt as a consequence of the extensive R&D going into 4K OLED TVs at the moment. The issues with over-saturation are gone, and the quality of high definition video is just incredible. For every other use, the Tab S is fast, slick, intuitive and a real joy to navigate. There has been some criticism of the amount of RAM that the touchwiz interface uses, but for my personal taste, touchwiz has great utility, and a couple of carefully chosen apps like battery doctor and clean master keep the RAM freed up and the device speed flying. The weight, design, and overall aesthetics are perfect. I was tempted by the 8.4 with the higher pixel density, but the ability not to use pentile RGB infrastructure with resulting improved display quality, and the extra screen real estate on the 10.5 made the larger screen the logical choice. I've not spotted any pixel structure yet, despite all my efforts to catch Samsung out. I appreciate that for Apple users the iPad air 2 is pretty impressive, and there is some android competition from the Sony Xperia tab, but for my money the Tab S ticks every box - then adds a few more boxes (like sidesync that allows me to control my note 3 phone on screen) and ticks those as well. If you take the plunge, you'll not be disappointed.

First tablet and we were not disappointed. It's lightweight
First tablet and we were not disappointed. It's lightweight, fast, responsive, has an excellent screen and works with the minimum of fuss under Android KitKat. Combined with a Samsung Memory 64GB Evo MicroSDXC, it has more than enough storage. Worth paying the extra for the 4G version and we also managed to get a 600GB sim only deal for £5 per month so when we're off WiFi, that will kick in. Of course it might not have the snob value of an i-Pad but you're not locked in to Apple products and I can't believe that's any better.

A nice piece of tech
What an amazing piece of kit. The colours and quality of the demo video are fantastic, almost 3D, and give good idea of screen resolution. It does have a 3/4G Micro Sim Card slot, which is useful. Works beautifully and very smoothly. A micro SD card is on order, for photo and music storage. I have used a Kindle HD Fire up until now, and the Samsung is far more capable, with access to Google Play, which is the Kindles major annoyance. Looked at IPads, a lot of money, but are they better?

Great productivity tool and great for video and photos
Great productivity tool and great for video and photos. Looks great, works perfectly and allows me to work anywhere. A breeze to work on the train or a corner somewhere while on the move. For a lifestyle business this is the perfect "on the go" tool. The screen is amazing for video and photos too (cant work all the time). Organising and viewing photos has become so easy I actually enjoy it for the first time ever! Probably the best thing about this as I can now easily see all my thousands of pics with a swipe - so much nicer than on the laptop. Love this Tab.

Dear Mr Google please arrange the following words into a well known phrase or saying.
Received 2017-08-23 (used, LTE variation).Impressions so far.9 hours to charge the battery from 16% to 62%!Cannot use Bluetooth while Wifi is enabled! This does not matter because I cannot connect the Tab S to ANY of my other devices using Bluetooth.I thought Windows was intrusive, I was wrong.Weeks ahead disabling/deleting as many Samsung & Google items as possible.Followed by downloading empirically established trustworthyish third party items from Amazon. The much-vaunted screen is not as good as that on my 6 year old Lenovo tablet.Went for a drive in the country to test phone reception (the telephone capability is why I selected this tablet).LG G3 ring ring ring [LG which does everything I have tried so far faster than the Tab S].£5 clamshell "emergency lives in the car in case I need to call the AA" phone (also a Samsung) ring ring ring.Tab S no ring ring ring, admittedly this is not an exhaustive test. The Grey Lady has an application in the European version of the manual! YMBK..The manual is a pdf but Adobe is not loaded. The file viewer supplied had one interesting feature, one (one *) review. The reviewer was not impressed and the brief review contained a four letter word, with which I concurred.------------------------------------------------------From the manufacturer's description on the Amazon page."In addition, Galaxy Tab S users can fully enjoy content clearly and easily outdoors, even in bright sunlight. The tablet's advanced outdoor visibility technology makes on-screen content look bright, natural, and easy to view."As this is a family show I will not use profanities, this is just not true.Edit 2017-08-24 Discovered I cannot download the Amazon Kindle application onto the Tab S without jumping through hoops for Mr Samsung and Mr Google. More time wasted, disgraceful, this will be the final Samsung product that I purchase. I wonder what other nice surprises are waiting for me in the future. Surprises which the other reviews did not warn of. Am I the only person irritated by these restrictive practises?Edit 2017-08-26 To date only one application being used, Select your application, up pops a window with a series of permissions which can be granted or not, and if not the application does not run, period. This review is being written on the Amazon website and Amazon itself has some monopolistic tendencies, but nothing this restrictive. Why do all these applications need to make phone calls? I bet the Wifi only version of this tablet does not restrict this, only all the functions offered! The only good news is the screen, the earlier reviewer is correct, the brightness can be turned way down to extend battery life.

I decided to go for the tab S rather than an ipad because I believe there are other good brands out there than apple brands
This is my first ever tablet and I chose carefully. I decided to go for the tab S rather than an ipad because I believe there are other good brands out there than apple brands. I am sure the Ipad is great, but not for me. The tab S is everything I expect in a tablet, very stylish and fantastic product.
