KitchenCraft Plastic Potato Ricer / Puree Maker with 2 Stainless Steel Blades in Gift Box, White, 36 x 10 x 10 cm

I had intended to buy a stainless steel ricer, just to see if it really produced better mashed potato than a good hand masher. However, on reading the Amazon reviews I was encouraged to buy this Kitchen Craft ricer, which though made of a very durable toughened plastic compound (which initially made me hesitate a moment) has proved to be very reliable and very strong. It has a stainless steel hinge, and comes with two stainless steel discs or mesh plates, each with differently sized holes. I've mashed carrots and parsnips as well as potatoes; the carrots seemed to mash best when passed through the larger holes first, then the smaller; but potatoes and parsnips came out perfectly creamy through the smaller-holed disc alone.Btw, I wouldn't say the resulting mash is actually better than a really well-prepared hand mash; it's just as good, though, and so much quicker (and less noisy!).The ricer came in a box, but with no instructions. I only mention this because the info on the box also said the ricer can be used to make röstis, and initially I wasn't sure if this meant you could push a raw potato through the larger mesh plate rather than grating it. But a quick online search revealed that some other ricers advertise their use to compress raw grated potato to get rid of the excess water, and this ricer has proved very successful at doing just that, providing very tender röstis.Cleaning is effortless, whether under a hot tap or in a dishwasher. At such a reasonable price this is very highly recommended.

Came on time, easy to set up, choose which of the plates you need for the job. They are easy to change, simple to clean and makes really hood lump-free mash

Weird no use or care instructions but it was pretty easy to figure out.But I absolutely love this. I had a metal one before and it quickly got thrown away as it was clunky, didn't align properly and wasn't as easy to use as I expected. This one however is amazing. Works brilliantly. It makes perfect mash in seconds. I usually opt for ready made mash but this is so easy it will be homemade all the way from now on.I love my kitchen gadget and this for me is up there with the airfryer in ease of use and results. I love it.My only concern is the review about he dirty water getting trapped in the handle. I really hope that doesn't happen

I've had a few potato ricers over the years and this is the best 1 by far. Sturdy strong and easy to use. It can also be perched on different sizes bowls which I love, cleaning it is easy as hell. Glad I bought i know it sounds sad but I actually look forward to using it🤣🤣🤣

I suffer with weak joints and cannot use a regular masher, this has proved really helpful! Nice and sturdy, chunky to hold but I prefer that to something flimsy. Mashed the potatoes brilliantly and made really smooth mash 🤤I found if you overload the chamber then potatoes squish out of the side, but this is easily fixed by pushing it back down with a spoon. Also it can be a little fiddly unclipping the sides to clean it, but I feel with more use it will become easier to use and less rigid.Overall I'm really happy I bought this, it has helped me gain more independence in the kitchen and isn't painful for my wrists when I use it.

I have taken a star off because:1: it does not have a good seal, so when you press down, potato escapes around the sides.2: the hinged mechanism is made in such a way that it will s really fiddly to clean.3: there were no instructions in the box.I wish I could remember the brand of potato ricer I had ( lost in the move), as it looked like this one, without the hinged mechanism, and was excellent, this one and s ok, but fiddly.It comes with two plates that just drop in, and then you have to force them back up the basket from the outside with your fingers, no instructions, took us a moment to figure this out, as my last one screwed in, this one just sits there but needs a good push to come out, which makes me wonder how long it will last.We used the smaller hole sized of the two plates that come with this ricer, and the potato that come out was the dimensions we expected, so that was good.I assume, but don't know, that the larger sized holes plate is for more fibrous vegetables like swede or carrots?Again, I don't know as there were no instructions.

I wanted a ricer for a long time and finally choose this one over a metal one as I was afraid of metallic tasting potatoes. I was a little concerned about how robust the plastic would be but this ricer is solid and strong. It does not feel fragile in any way even though I filled the press quite full each time using the smallest hole grids. It was easy to wash and clean as soon as I had used it.Hey presto mash with no lumps!! Perfect!I also used the larger hole grid to squeeze the water out of grated raw potato to make rosti. This too worked well, and left the potato in a food shape for frying.I would recommend this ricer.

Dopo aver buttato l'ennesimo schiacciapatate in alluminio mi sono decisa a comprarlo in plastica. È perfetto, robusto,con manici che non scivolano dalle mani, è leggermente ovale e più grande la parte dove inserire la patata, il che lo rende comodo per le patate un po' più grosse. Ha 2 griglie, una più fine ed una leggermente più grossa. Facile da montare e soprattutto da pulire. Molto comodo in punta cob la possibilità di appoggiarlo alla pentola.

Ocupa poco espacio, es facil de limpiar, pesa poco, es bastante capaz. lo he utilizado para hacer puré de patatas.

Pas pratique, encombrant et peu efficace, plus facile et moins fastidieux d'écaser ses pommes de terre et carottes à la fourchette, inutile si l'on est un peu âgée car mal aux poignets avant d'avoir écrasé deus patates....
