I would give it the last star if the wires were heavier, and the cable insulation was completely weatherproof. The cable for this thing is pretty thin, 18ga I think, possibly 16ga... I've used it a couple of times so far and it has worked great, but I feel like it would be more capable with 12ga or 10ga wiring though.Besides the wiring, the black sheathing around the jump cable leaves about 1/2" of wire exposed at each plug, and provides no strain relief at all. That could certainly use an update, as these are used exclusively outdoors, they are prone to dirt and moisture contamination.That being said, so far I have not had a problem at all with my kit. I have used it both to get myself going and to rescue someone else, and both times it did the job. It cost me less than a set of traditional jumper cables, and takes up significantly less space on my bike, not to mention doesn't require me to remove my seat to use. If you ever need a jump, you'll be glad you got it. I also appreciate that the harness provides you with a battery-tender style plug. I have both a float-charger I use at home, as well as a handle-bar mounted cell phone charger that are compatible with the plug.All in all, I'm happy with the product, and would buy it again if I ever get another bike, however I would be glad to pay more if it came with a nicer cable, and a bit extra still if it were wired in a thicker gauge.

This is a must have for every biker, especially if you ride in groups. Easy to connect gives you a fused 15 amp SAE connector for a battery tender or accessory plug in. Then you have a a BMW Socket that is unfused and goes directly to the battery. Plug the supplied BMW cable into the socket and the other end to another bike that has the same harness and thats all there is to it. No bike with the same set up handy not to worry. The kit comes with alligator clips on a cable with a BMW socket at the other end, Just plug in and attach to any 12 volt source - car, spare battery etc and off you go. Take up almost no space and you don't have to remove plastic seats or covers to jump the battery.Many people assume that they can jump through an SAE connector. Not so a 10 or 15 amp fuse will blow immediately. Great company to deal with. We have a group of 60 members and half of them have installed them on their bikes.

It is 12 gauge.This is a MUST HAVE for every rider.Have had to charge up other riders batteries with the alligator clips.Have charged up our batteries with the supplied EZ jump cable.Very easy to connect to battery and snake under my gas tank on my Yamaha Fz6.Great product. I recommend it to every rider and tourer that I come across.*July 2018 update* Just purchased another one for my new motorcycle. Back of the package states 12 gauge wires.

Fumbling with full-size jumper cables and fiberglass housing all winter was making me miserable. With this kit, I don't need to stand in the freezing street taking things apart. Just reach into the spare battery backpack, yank out the plug, snap it into the bike harness for some extra juice on the cold days, and fire it up. Then unplug, zip it all back in and be on my way. I had been planning to build my own cable, but found this at a great price here.Had a connection problem with the first unit they sent, but one email to customer service got me immediate response by email and phone, along with an immediate replacement (personally checked before shipping) and cheerful followup to be sure everything worked. Impressive.Not taking any chances with the new one--I rigged up some protection for the BMW plugs on the cable so they don't get damaged in the backpack while being flung around the tundra.

I bought this item (along with EK1-153 kit) for an adventure motorcycle with a future long trip in mind. My main requirements were 1) something easy to use and 2) small storage size. I also bought a set of traditional jumper cables product for motorycles (Yuasa) to compare, but ended up choosing the EKLIPES one for 2 main reasons: 1) small footprint and 2) SAE/Powerlet outputs also useful for other purposes (eg. air pump).The only reason I'm not giving a 5-stars rating is because I haven't actually used the product yet. But I'm fairly confident that it will get the job done based on quality of materials and build.

My ninja 250 battery got discharged totally and it is not fun to open the front seat to jump start (in case it needs a jump start again). I got this kit, and it was simple and straight forward to correct them. The base wire that connects to battery is long enough to draw it under the rear seat compartment, which I can open using key.And the other connecting cables are handy to connect to my car battery and start the ninja.These connectors are also helpful for keeping battery charged during winter.Only thing is that the connectors did not snap tight one into the other, but not a big deal

This is one of those things you need in the tool kit next to the wrench! If you ever wind up with a weak/dead battery this system is very, very easy to connect and use! With a quick connection you are easily ready to help start another bike or receive assistance yourself. If the other bike has this system there are NO ALLIGATOR CLIPS used! However, if you need to use alligator clips, it is a simple step to connect them to the cable and you have a standard set of jumper cables. I keep a set in my bike. I have given assistance with the alligator clips installed and had to get assistance from a friend! A great product.

Very handy gadget. Especially helpful for Big Harleys... The battery is very challenging to get to and if you need to jump start it without a cable like this, you will spend nearly an hour getting it jumped. This makes light work of it. This is especially valuable if you are stuck on the side of the road and would like to get back on the road as soon as possible....
