Enjoyable trip back in time
Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) is proving to be an enjoyable trip back in time. Each episode is complete in itself and it’s fun to see London so clean and with (by todays standards) not a lot of traffic.I also love the outfits Annette Andre as Jeanie wears .I recommend it as a pleasant way to pass an evening.

Very Entertaining
I really enjoyed this series when I was a child and it's still just as good. Lots of location shooting in London etc. Reminds me of the London of my childhood. Funny scripts and good performances from the lead actors. ITC filmed nearly all its series on 35mm colour and this has transferred to modern DVD and Blue-Ray superbly. Easy to forget that most of us used to watch on tiny B & W tellies. Seems a bit like capability Brown planting all those trees 300 years ago so we get the benefit of them now. OK, maybe not quite so profound.

Only You Can See Me Jeff Only You
Recently Released In Stunning HD Blu-ray One Of Best Loved Of The Original ITC Programing Series Randall And Hopkirk (Deceased) Finally Makes It's Debut On The Format. First seen by British TV viewers in 1969 The series undertook a different Take on The Detective series format by having one of Them killed off in The opening episode only To return as a Ghost. This made a very interesting Twist solving cases when your partner can walk Through walls all The Things really a Ghost can do. having Guest starred on many other of The popular ITC series of The day Mike Pratt was cast as Jeff Randall one half of The Detective partnership while Kenneth Cope starred as The Ghostly Hopkirk and providing The Glamour for The series Annette Andre was cast as Marty's widow Jean Hopkirk. of course only Jeff can see Marty and during The series Twenty six episode run The stage is set for some classic Detective series fun with a dash of comedy. viewers who probably were introduced To The series for The first Time Through it's DVD releases will be a little surprised by This New Blu-ray release as The opening credits do differ from past releases of The series on any format. Those splendid people over at Network who have released This Blu-ray have reinstalled The original opening credits That were first seen when The series first played in 1969. I am from The Generation That do very well remember The original opening Titles No One Can See Me Only You Jeff Only You proclaims Marty. and This in a sense basically Tells you The premise Of The series. why They were originally removed To make way for standard cast credits is a case probably Randall & Hopkirk Themselves couldn't solve. That said This stunning Blu-ray release have really done The classic episodes proud colors are deeply rich just look at some of The colors on The outfits worn by Annette Andre Throughout The episodes Red's are red and Green's are green all vividly bright compared To past DVD releases. while Network's DVD release did include a number of interesting extras They have opted for just The episodes Themselves with This Blu-ray release. However for me This still merits five stars for The stunning HD Transfers and Those original opening credits reinstated makes This a must have for any classic vintage TV collection. Six Disc's comes neatly packaged in one small handy snap open case showcasing your episodes and really does not Take up much room on your classic TV shelving something I Think Randall & Hopkirk Themselves would be proud of.

Excellent set with only a couple of slight flaws
So firstly the film transfer on this set is truly phenomanal, it really brings the classic show to a new level and looks vibrant and delicious. Full marks for that. The series has never looked better than it does in this bluray set and it is great value for the price. I've noticed actually a lot of 60s tv shows are getting some beautiful bluray transfers lately. The only minor quibbles i have with the set are as followsThe episodes are in the wrong order, they may be in production order i'm not sure, but they certainly aren't in transmission order (the final transmitted episode "the smile beneath the veil" is is episode 4 in this set), unfortunately this seems to be a trend in show releases like this, where story arcs aren't much of a thing and each episode is self contained, as i don't think any released dvd or boxset of this show are ever in the same order. The next quibble is they use the American intro sequence, despite this being a british show and bluray release. It's not a major thing and doesn't really matter, but it still bugs me. It may be that the film elements the transfer comes from are the American versions i don't know, i seem to recall the same thing happened with the dvd set (or at least the larger of the 2 dvd releasesThe third and final moan is the lack of any extras at all, this is a strictly barebones release, just the episodes. They didn't even include the documentary that was an extra on the dvds which is a shame, and means if you want to still own that, you better keep hold of that dvd set aswellOverall i would definitely recommend this set, especially if you can get it for £20-£25 new from amazon like i did
