Audi AMI (Audi Music Interface) Cable - This cable is used to connect an iPod, iPad or iPhone into cars with a factory-fitted AMI socket. This cable is ONLY compatible with vehicles equipped with AMI, which is located next to the CD Changer, or underneath the centre armrest (A6, A8 in the glove box, Q7 in the centre console). When connected the Apple device will appear in the MMI navigation. Simply press MEDIA on the MMI controller buttons and you can choose between your Apple device and the CD Changer (if fitted). Choose source, then navigate as you would navigate your iPod, by playlist, by artist, by album, etc. You can select songs, play and pause via the Audi MMI system. You can use the steering wheel buttons to navigate through songs and the name of the track is shown both on the MMI screen and on the small information screen in the centre of the instrument cluster. This cable is for use on cars manufactured from 2009 onwards with the 3rd Generation MMI installed (if in doubt please ask your local Audi/VW dealer).
