I loved every second of this book.
Eva was a child lost to the foster system. For four years she has been locked in an attic, mentally and physically abused in the cruelest manner. Allowed downstairs for dinner one evening, she finds a letter addressed to her in the garbage. It's an acceptance letter to the prestigious Rothmore College with a full scholarship, room, and board. After months of careful planning, Eva escapes and makes her way to New York to her new life. Once at Rothmore Eva quickly embraces her new opportunity. This life is wondrous to Eva. Each experience new and enlightening. Caught up in her new world Eva does not realize her effect on people. She has an incomparable beauty. A beauty that stuns people into silence, causes people to fall all over themselves to grab her attention, to please her. She quickly gathers male admirers, including the school's star quarterback, Damon Pierce. Damon has never met a female who could resist him until Eva. Now he's found the girl he wants and he's determined not to lose her. Unsure for the first time in his life Damon goes slow and befriends Eva with a long-term plan to make her his. He's making slow progress with his dream girl when suddenly he has true competition, his best friend, and roommate, Mason Shaw. Mason is the lead singer of a band and when he spots Eva in the crowd, every other woman pales in comparison. He knows he must have her. Sweeping her off her feet, Mason asks her to a major event where Eva once again attracts a new admirer, Damon and Mason's third friend, Beckham Stone. There's something unusual about Damon, Mason, and Beckham but it seems that Eva is pretty special herself.First Impressions is a marvelous start to a new RH paranormal series. I loved every second of this book. Eva could have been a broken soul after her childhood. Instead, she is smart, talented, private, and has no idea of her true self but she is open to all of life's possibilities. Fresh experiences each new day with her, enjoying simple things we take for granted is a delight. Her lack of ego is refreshing. I adore her character. I was afraid that I would hate Damon and Mason. I am not a fan of the man-whore and these two certainly have a long history of using women. However, their immediate change after meeting Eva made their pasts seem less significant. Damon was so careful of Eva, so attentive, so gentle. Even with his less than scrupulous plans to keep her close, I felt like he truly fell for her. Mason was a whirlwind. What girl wouldn't be caught up in this force of nature? And while we only got a moment with Beckham, he sure had an impact! This is a book of introductions. We meet the main characters, we get to know them or at least get a feel for them. They have all met, the chemistry is immediate, intense, natural. The stage is set now for an amazing story. I have a new obsession. I hate to be 'that' reader but I am desperate for more!

An intriguing first book
Eva hasnāt had an easy life and the last few years have been the worst. But she is finally able to break away from her abusive foster family when she receives an acceptance letter to Rothmore Collegeāthey even offer her the full ride that she needs in order to attend. Upon arrival, she finds herself with a lot of male attention as usual. But when she meets Damon, for the first time in her life sheās happy about the attention. He seems to bring to the best in her and she canāt believe that someone like him is interested in her. And then his best friend Mason also shows interest. Will their third friend Beckham also be interested?Whoa, that cliffhanger!!! Eva is an interesting character who couldāve been very beaten down with the life that sheās lived, and yet she hasnāt let it crush her spirit. Itās very obvious that thereās more to her and her story than meets the eye, but I guess Iāll have to keep reading to see if I can find out what that is. I adore Damon and Evaās relationship. I love seeing the man who can have anyone down on his knees for the woman that he has to have. Mason seems a lot more lighthearted than his friend, and I can see why Eva is attracted to both of them. Looking forward to finding out how these relationships progress from here.

Warning!
i'm now halfway through the seventh book and i can't believe i've wasted so much time on this series! The "heroine's" character hasn't developed at all and she goes through every book with the same victim mentality, makes the same poor choices and doesn't fight for herself at all. CR Jane co writes some amazing series that i highly recommend but this series is time i'll never get back.

Intriguing Start To The Series
This is an intriguing book. Itās definitely about supernatural beings, but there is very little discussion of how they are supernatural and their abilities. There are just enough hints to draw you along, waiting for the next tidbit to drop.Eva has spent the last four years trapped in an attic by her foster parents. The husband is drawn to her and the wife beats her for being attractive. She is homeschooled and somehow she finds a letter accepting her to a university she didnāt apply to along with a full scholarship. When the time finally comes she escapes by stealing some money and gets a bus to New York where her life changes drastically. One thing Eva doesnāt understand is why men are so drawn to her that she feels uncomfortable, and why so many women hate her on sight. Then she meets Damon, college football playing superstar who also acts in films with his friend Beckham and sings on stage occasionally with his friend Mason whoās in a rock band. All three men share an unearthly beauty that has people falling at their feet. It appears that there is something very different about these men.I like that there is a slow build up to Eva discovering things about herself. Itās more believable that someone with special abilities wouldnāt really know about them until they tried them out and why would they try them without something prompting them into doing something unusual?Iām interested to see where this series goes next, because I want to know what she is, and why everyone wants her.

Escapism at its best
I loved this, it was everything from a crossover of two genres that made you read on through the night. The general air of ethereal beauty that Eva possesses and the connection to the mysterious men has me hooked. Loved it .
