I washed it before use and it ended up with white spots on it

It came well packaged.It seems to be made by a highly conductive aluminum alloy that reaches room temperature for rapid thawing of your food. It will reduce the time for defrosting meals or frozen pieces of meat.Will save you time by accelerating the time something takes to defrost or natural thawing.The channels along the board will help you to keep the juices inside the board, so I found it usefulI used in the oven for a few times and seems to work well. It was easy to clean, by hand, since apparently is not dishwasher safe.Have been using to defrost, chicken, meat, fish and frozen meals and no problems so far.The only con I found is that I wish it was bigger, the size is great to store it almost everywhere, but wish It was a little bit bigger for other frozen meals like Turkey or spare ribs.

I have always preferred thawing meat slowly. To me it is just better and I don't have to worry about unevenness from a microwave. The 4T7 Defrosting tray is great for this.I thawed over two pounds of hamburger plus a quart and a half of frozen, homemade chili in four hours. It did help to turn the meat over a couple of times. The tray conducts hot and cold very efficiently. It became very cold to the touch while stuff was thawing. Essentially it increases the surface area and airflow. It is grooved top and bottom for airflow. The grooves catch any water or other liquids so my counter remained clean and dry.Its well made, solid and has a great finish. It is big enough for a few steaks, or several chicken breasts. It is not large enough for a Thanksgiving turkey. I will use this several times a week.

The first time we put this to use, we needed to bring a roll of store-bought pastry dough from refrigerator-temp to room-temp so we could put it on top of a pie. Typically we'd need to wait 30-40 minutes... but the dough was ready to handle in 10! We defrosted a frozen chunk of hamburger next... again, we were impressed!Remember to heat the tray first by submerging in hot water for 10 minutes. It's a superior piece of carftsmanship... we want to take care of it. So we handwash it and dry it with a towel after each use. NO DISHWASHER.

My mother had one of these when I was growing up and I thought they're really cool. Well, as an adult I'm so happy I found one for myself. Works as expected and makes defrosting frozen meat a lot quicker that normal. Clean up is easy and feels very durable. With proper care this should last a long time.

From frozen solid it takes about 30 mins to an hour to thaw meat depending on the thickness. Its not the easiest to clean because the grooves on the tray are so close together that you have to actually get your sponge in between them. I do feel that my other defrosting trays do a better and faster job of thawing, but this is a nice option for when you just need one.

I've been using this to defrost steak prior to cooking. I estimate that defrosting goes about 2x faster with this plate. Where it really shines though, is when I put it under items I'm cooking in the countertop oven. I make sure that I preheat with this plate on the shelf, and then I set my pan or meat directly on this tray. That results in more even bottom browning for things like cake and cookies. I cook meat directly on this tray. The built-in grooves collect meat juices and I can easily wash the plate when it has cooled.The plate itself is, well, it's an aluminum plate. The workmanship seems to be good, and it's a practical thickness to help with both defrosting and grilling/baking. I've also noticed that things like cakes and cookies cool more quickly when I put them on this. Of course, the cakes are still in their baking pan. In the past, I've had some issues with the cake continuing to cook after I've taken it out of the oven, For me, this is more versatile than a standard cooling rack.The tray is pricey, but it is a nice piece of workmanship with multiple uses. If you have a friend who has 'everything', there's probably a good chance he or she doesn't have one of these practical items.

This is an excellent defrosting tray that really helps cut down on the defrost time. It is sturdy and really easy to clean.
