E1840P Sloppy Mechanics Stage 2 Camshaft Cam Kit with LS7 Lifter, Spring, Head Gaskets and Bolts Kit for 1997-2007 LS LS1 5.3L 5.7L Engine

The media could not be loaded. I had a scratching/scraping sound coming from my 5.3 vortec and confirmed it was a lifter and cam lobe. I knew I needed a new cam and figured why not try to get more power out of my labor. I purchased this kit because the price was good and it had everything I needed. I will admit I got nervous about using such cheap lifters and head gaskets so I purchased OEM lifters separately and felpro head gaskets. I did use the cam, springs, valve cover gaskets, timing chain/oil pump cover gasket, cam valley gasket and oil pan gasket. I bought new valve seal guides and replaced the oil pump with a high pressure high volume pump while I was in there. The truck started right up after a few seconds of cranking. It definitely has a rough lopey idle and more power too.The only issue I had with the kit was the intake manifold gaskets where not correct for my cathedral port heads. I contacted the seller they promptly sent me a small kit with the correct gaskets. Over all very happy, unsure about longevity though.

Best bang for buck out there, haven’t fired the engine up yet to know if all the parts in the kit are correct but over all very pleased

Headgaskets wouldnt seal. When pressure testing the cooling system before filling it up the headgaskets were leaking all the way around both heads and wouldnt hold pressure. I had to purchase felpro gaskets and the sealed up juat fine. So far the rest if the kit is running we will see how long it lasts.

Worth every penny... good buy

For sure a chines knock off of the sloppy stage two. We will see how it goes. RestOf the kit seamed to be good with good looking looking quality gaskets. Time will tell if it holds up.
