For my quirky, inner child, I had a real inkling to purchase a microscope. Without knowing too much in to the semantics of it all, I know that I wanted one feature and that was a camera that I could connect to my PC/Mac and see my findings on my monitor.After a short while browsing, I found this microscope and ticked all the boxes I required. Decent magnification, some initial samples and of course, the USB camera.I found this product to be absolutely fantastic for anyone that wants to take the leap in to a being a microscope hobbyist. It comes with a very useful hardened carry case, sample glass slides with very interesting specimens! And some bottled samples of stuff that are very cool to look under the microscope indeed!Aside from the standard 4x, 10x and 40x lenses found on the rotating end of the microscope, you are also supplied with an additional 1.6x Barlow lens, which then allows you to insert a further 10x or 16x lens, leading to full 1024x magnification! And believe me, the results definitely don't disappoint!The camera that links to the microscope is very useful indeed. Unfortunately, you cannot use with the Barlow lens and are only limited to the standard 4x, 10x and 40x lenses, but the results are still sure to blow your mind. The resolution isn't HD quality, but still plenty clear to see those ultra-close up images.Just as a further note, for any Mac users wishing to purchase this product, the CD that accompanies this product won't work with your machine, but it's not required. Simply plug in the camera in to a USB port and open PhotoBooth. The live image will instantly show up on your screen, as opposed to your normal built-in webcam.

A real pain installing the drivers and software, it took my I.T. friend to do it who said it shouldn't be as difficult as it is and took him a while to figure it out, followed the installation instructions and nothing happens. When we finally get it working we are really disappointed with the picture quality, we have a HD monitor and tried adjusting the resolution to the best possible and still not a very clear picture, can't expect much for £100 i suppose but there are cheaper scopes with better picture quality on amazon,it also doesn't state how many MP the camera is i think it is around 2MP which is rubbish really considering you can get much better cameras in bog standard mobile phones. Should have listened to my parents years ago who always said ' buy cheap buy twice ' so so true.

This is a lovely microscope and feels good quality with a sturdy case and good selection of accessories. Has good magnification and easy to set up. I use it for troubleshooting by plant diseases. We have a lot of trees and shrubs and this is very useful for identifying any problems early on with fungus and other leaf diseases they get. I had a microscope when I was a child and for years it gave me pleasure looking at insects and other tiny things up close. In middle age this will too I'm sure. Good piece of kit and would recommend.

Model is over 6 years old and technology used is old for the price. No Windows 10 Drivers or Software on manufacturer site. Works fine on Windows 7.

Amazing microscope for an amateur interest. Love the camera too! The programme didn't work on my computer but I found different programmes to use with it instead. Fabulous

I can't install the Cam software on Windows 7. Any idea?
