FF Bruce is recognised as a very good Bible expositor so I knew what I was buying. Being a commentary one rarely sits and reads through a book like this, it is study associate. He is easy to read and understand, you don't have to keep going to the dictionary. He is the last of a generation of evangelical expositors and I doubt there will be anymore like him. As the modern progressive church is saturated with charismania it seems incapable of producing any sound theological exposition. There is none in book form after 50 years of this movement. Thank you F F Bruce for leaving us this legacy.

An excellent, scholarly work
This is just what is needed by any serious Bible students and those preparing sermons. It is readable and comprehensive.

One of the best commentaries on Acts.
This is definitely one of the best commentaries I've got on the book of Acts as it is certainly up to Bruce's usual high standard. The text is well covered and there is enough in the footnotes to cover any technical details such as translation from the Greek if the need should arise. As commentaries of this standard go this is pretty a easy read and therefore is good for personal Bible study, leading Bible studies or preaching on the text. The narrative of Acts often seems to cause problems for some commentators with its mixture of historical narrative and teaching and although there are many good commentaries about, it is quite hard to find exceptional ones. This one certainly seems to meet the need when it comes to significant detail and is probably worth another half star if I could give it that. A bit expensive if buying new but there do seem to be some good second-hand buys around on Amazon so worth looking around and waiting for a good price!

Horrifically Expensive
have had the paper version for many years, but find the kindle app on my iPad a useful way of carrying multiple books when travelling. Wherever possible I buy Kindle, but this one is 3 times the price as it is on Olive Tree. Sorry Amazon, I cannot justify £30+ for a book I can get elsewhere for a tenner. The book itself is a "staple" for anyone wishing to study Acts - and well worth seeking out.
