The box contains the battery pack, a latest generation of BMS, the driver (Controller) for the electronic engine management system and its controls, and also includes the support aluminium bars holding the motors. The aluminium bars included in the box, protrude in a telescopic way, and through a revolution and further extension are positioned on the rear bicycle wheel. A stop system that excludes the spill, anchoring and ensuring the best functionality. A Once in position, the engine is kept in due pressure by a pair of functional elasticized straps that ensure the necessary adherence to the transmission of motion to the wheel. The device is very fast to put in the right position to work, as well as take out from a bike, ready to assist another biker. All in accordance with our philosophy: Plug & Play. It works, but for general use you'd be better off with a motorised wheel.
Now in my second season using it to assist climbing to Greek mountain villages at typically 500m. Pros - it does the job; it's easy to take on and off; on long flat or downhill stretches it's easy to disengage. Cons - it's useless in the wet (fortunately rare in a Greek summer!); the shock cord attachment to the motor needed shackles inserted to prevent them breaking up; the shock cord tension is critical - too loose and it slips, too tight and it overheats; it tends to overheat anyway on long hills - it pays to rest after about 200m of climbing; it's rather noisy.

flying tail electric bike motor
OK i received the tail for my wife's city bike. Unfortunately Tekhneloghia sent the wrong cable for the charger. After i contacted them they sent out the correct one straight away which i thought good service. So how did it work? First i fitted the box to the rack which was very easy, then i fitted the peddle sensor to the crank which also was child's play. The only problem i had after i screwed on the throttle to the handlebars was fitting the break sensors. As the instruction manual is in Italian i had to watch the tutorial on line. But the main problem was my cables where not long enough to take the sensors which use up about three cm of cable so i could not put them on the bike. I am not sure if they are needed anyway as when you stop peddling the power cuts off automatically and if you let go of the throttle the power cuts off as well. I then just tidied the cables up using some tie wraps. done. Now for the fun part, testing. The tail pushed the bike using the throttle well slowly increasing in speed up to the top limit. When peddle assist is used it gives you a boost as you start off then gives you power when you need it. You glide along with the motor whining quietly away behind you. So far we have only tested it on the flat roads near our house so cant comment on how i deals with hills or how long the battery lasts. Initial results are very good and if it continues to perform well on hill we will be delighted. The only down side i can see is the slight tail heaviness it gives to the bike when you are walking it along but that is a small price to pay for zooming along in electric power. Oh and when i fist put it on the rack i placed it as far back as i could but this made the motor lags rattle inside the box. By moving it just a couple of cm back got rid of the noise and the motor still worked well. I will update this when we have tried it in the hills and can comment on range. It could get another star if its good.OK so we have tested this motor on our holiday in Switzerland. We biked from Brienz to Interlarken and back. The route takes in some hills as well as flat lakeside sections and is 42 km long. Over all the bike tail worked really well especially in the hilly bits. I was riding my road bike and Sue on her city bike with the motor on. When we left Interlarken there is a 2 km up hill section quite steep, well Sue left me behind here and i had to catch her up on the flat bits. The motor put out just the right amount of push to get her up the hills but still she didn't feel she cheated as she still got a decent work out but she could keep up with me and enjoy a longer ride that she might not have attempted if she had no motor help. So very good then? Yes but just a few little niggles. The black bungee that attaches to the motor that keeps the motor pressed against the wheel goes through a metal plate, this soon cuts through this bungee. No real problem though as i just changed them out for a regular bungee with metal hooked ends on. I also added another bungee each side pulling upward to keep the motor legs from rattling which worked a treat. The range left after 42 km was i estimate between 5 and 10 km left on the battery. So apart from the minor problems with the bungees the thing does what its designed for, giving you some help when you need it and leaving you to peddle on your own power when you don,t need help. A simple design that works well.

Do not buy !
Pro's its easy to put on bike.Con's if you have rear pannier bagsyou have to buy a new pannier so that everything fits. The straps to tighten up wheel motor area bit of a nightmare to loose and it slipsTo tight and it slows you down. But by far the biggest problem is if it rainsor if tire gets wet forget it. It's about as much good as a chocolate teapot. The rubber wheele just spins.Very noisy as well.Waste of money.
