Buy it now!
I wanted to dabble in this type of cooking and I regret not doing it earlier. I liked this particular unit as it’s a simple one dial set temp, push once and set time. Simple and it gets to the temp pretty quick. Timer only starts when the water is at temp. Going to purchase another one now for our second home as I cannot be without it. Steaks were to die for!!!!!!!!!

NO INSTRUCTIONS
The first time I used the Sous Vide it was very difficult to figure out how to use the dial, which had no numbers or arrows on it. I was able to turn it to enter the temperature, but could not set the cooking time. After trial and error, I discovered that I had to wait for the beep indicating the water was at the chosen temperature. I was supposed to be able to set the time then, but couldn't. Finally, my husband discovered it's necessary to push on the dial to navigate between temperature and time. NO INSTRUCTIONS WERE INCLUDED WITH MY UNIT, so I watched several videos on You Tube and none of their models had the same dial. They just said "set the temperature and cooking time" without showing how. I'm still learning about how much time it takes to cook our steaks and at what temperature. We like them medium well. I seared them after removing them, but they were not as tender as I had hoped. Maybe I should leave them longer before searing.

Long cooking time
Results are good but cooking time required is too long due to the sous vide process itself. The cooker works well if you want to take the time. I found that the cooker heating element was covered with calc after just one use, understandably a result of the hard water. The heating element could probably be cleaned using a vinegar bath, or using only soft or distilled water but these are extra steps not worth the effort.

Works like a charm.
Cooked steaks and pork chops to perfection in 2-3 hours. Cooked a pot roast to perfection in 30 hours. Easy to operate, easy to clean. Make sure you also purchase weights to keep the pouch submerged because even with a vacuum seal, some air remains. I use a thing that looks like chain mail. The magnets are not worth it.
