Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover is an awesome book
I totally loved this book. It was a cute story along with a good lesson learned for kids. The pictures along with the story were great. I have recommended it to many of f my friends who have young children. I can't wait until she write some more books, I'll be there to buy them for sure. The author really has a great understanding of dogs you can tell this by the little extra things she writes. I don't want to give the story away but anyone who is thinking of buying their child a dog should really read this first. I actually purchased a copy to give to my veternarian, he loved it.

A Valuable New Children's Book
A truly valuable book for children and adults. I have given copies to friends who work with troubled children and their reviews are very positive as well. The wonderful illustrations keep kids engaged and reinforce the text well. I am ordering more copies for gifts.~Joy Falk, Mission Viejo, CA

My nieces loved it!
I read this book to my nieces and then they asked me to read it to them again, and then again. Personally, I love the message it carries about the importance of adopting a pet from a shelter. It is presented in a way that makes sense to a child. I don't think there are any other children's books like this one out there yet. Loved it!

Great
Well written book that touches on so many aspects of rescued or rehomed dogs (and pets), in a way that a young reader can relate to. Enjoyed reading it from an adult perspective because it is written by someone who actually is involved with the subject, which makes the book more credible and an interesting read. (I was amazed at how quickly it arrived, too, which was a bonus).

At Last - An Intelligent Book For Children
Finally, we have a meaningful, intelligent book for young people. Without preaching or condescending, this wonderful book uses readable but grown-up language to teach an important lesson about the folly of reliance upon of outward appearances in the context of book covers, the friends we choose, and our choice of pets. It educates, gently and sensitively, about the responsibilities of pet ownership and the dangers of breed discrimination. It offers poignant proof that discrimination of any kind is unfair, cruel, and wrong. This fine book does a lot between its two plain black covers and cleverly reminds us, and our children, not to judge a book by its cover. I loved it, my kids loved it, my grandkids loved it, and I believe it should be in every child's bookcase.

What a wonderful, important message!
If every kid and their parents read this inspiring book, the world would be a MUCH better place. I loved every page of this enlightening book that not only sends an extremely important message about the joy of adopting shelter animals, especially those that are harder-to-adopt-out like seniors and black animals, but it also has a heart-warming anti-bullying message that needs to be sent home in light of the current climate in schools relating to violence. I loved all the themes in this book. It even touches on Breed Discrimination, which is something I am passionately against. The book speaks to children intelligently and I think they appreciate that. The illustrations are awesome too!

Great Read
This book is excellent for children. It teaches a valuable lesson that is often forgotten. The author also stresses the importance of adopting from an animal shelter. She sets you straight and squashes the misconceptions often associated with shelter animals. It's a great read and entertaining. Artwork is also captivating. I know it will be a book that my children reach for often at story time. Thank you for writing a book for children that champions our furry homeless friends!

AMAZING!!
This book is a MUST have for both children and adults!! It delivers the important messsage about not judging others by their appearance or preconceived prejudices. This is especially true for our animals which have no voice. This book helps speak for the abandoned animals that need love and a family yet are overlooked for multiple reasons. If all children read this book we can begin to change the world as generations grow up with new found compassion. More than just a book this is a guide to becoming a better human thus creating a better world.
