Screaming Eagles is a great base set
Wow. Screaming Eagles is a great base set, but this expansion / base set is simply fantastic. It adds a lot of German units and a completes the Russian units. It also includes a lot more maps, making it possible to cover a dining room table with your own scenarios.For those not familiar with the Band of Brothers game franchise, it is VERY streamlined compared to most unit level combat games. By using a suppression mechanic, it results in a simpler but also more accurate simulation of front line squad action combat. Rush a machine gun nets with crack troops? Bad idea, they'll take very heavy losses.Sit back and plink the whole game? You'll never win like that either.You've got to suppress, move, engage, eliminate to win. Just like squad level combat.This is my new all time favorite combat system, and for good reason.
