I have wavy, somewhat thick hair that tangles easily. I don't typically use a hair brush because most just break my hair and create a ton of frizz no matter how carefully I try to detangle my hair before brushing. I decided to try a boar bristle brush since I'd read they were gentle on your hair. I've only had it a day, and supposedly your hair improves over time with use, so we shall see what long term results are. But I took it immediately to my rats nest of tangles last night and it glided right through. It detangled gently without ripping, pulling and breaking my hair. The brush seems to be very good quality, and I could easily pull my shed hair out of the bristles without all of the bristles pulling out, too. I brushed again before bed and my hair was still pretty tangle free in the morning. A quick finger combing was all it needed to work out the few bits of bed head. I'm not really a fan of the wooden comb that accompanied the brush and probably will not use it. But I ordered this for the brush, not the comb.

Both the brush and comb are well made. The brush has very soft bristles.

I love this brush! It’s great that it comes with the comb as well for detangling.Using a boars hair brush is different then an average brush because you need to brush your hair in smaller sections and so it does take longer, I would say that’s the only down side. But totally worth it for keeping your hair healthy and avoiding unnecessary breakage.I have been using it for several months and it’s definitely the best brush I have ever had!

Excellent boar's hair brush. Feels like a massage every time I use it. I have very fine hair that is still recovering from health issues so this is gentle enough for it, but I am still able to brush it thoroughly. Comb is very nice quality, but small. Would be better if the comb matched the size (and color) of the brush. However, it's great for traveling and fits nicely in my small purse.

Returned product-staple protruding in brush. Bristles were too soft even for my fine texture hair. The comb was very nice though.

I bought this as i was starting to do the water only wash hair care routine. 1 month later and i can say that this has been a saviour!Its great at distributing the oils in your hair from the roots to the ends and leaves your hair feeling very soft and looking shiny. The comb and little brush cleaner are also great. I have washed this once every week since i got it, and it washes well with no bristles falling out, it does smell a bit whilst it is wet, but that is normal for boar bristle brushes.For best results i have found that massaging your scalp for 5-10 minutes and then brushing your hair how the instructions tell you to is the best way. So that you can lift the oils off of your scalp and then brush them down the lengths of your hair. I have found the best time to do it thoroughly is at night before bed, as your hair can look greasy afterwards so you need to allow the oils to dissolve into the hair. I have fine hair, but lots of it, and this seems to work fine for me.

** a bit difficult to usethis is a very soft brush, the instructions that come with it say instead of pressing against your skull, try and press your hair into the brush using your other hand that's not holding the brush. I'm not sure I'm explaining this well but your hair won't really go between the bristles without you using your other hand which makes brushing a bit more complicated than if you were using a regular brush.** shiny hair + less oilI must say it does my hair a bit shinier and visibly less greasy. my hair has been getting more oily quicker lately because of frequent washing and one of the things i read about it was to try this sort of brush. I didnt really expect it to work but it does.**comes in nice packaging - good for a present** it's supposed to be ethically sourced (I should hope so)

Great products for the price. Glad to have found a 100% boar bristle brush that comes with the wide tooth comb. First time using such brush. My hair is very thick so I brush in sections, morning and evening, and if needed a third time, it feels very pleasant. Results are great, even on third hair day, brushing redistributes the oil so hair does not look greasy, it gives volume too so that’s ideal. This brush really helps with my cutting down on shampoo and transitioning from traditional shampoo to just olive soap bar. Brushed hair shows a nice shine and natural bounce. Highly recommend the product!

Bought this brush as I do Water Only (WO) hair washing and I do not use any shampoo. I have long mid-back length hair. Boar bristle brushes are integral to WO by distributing the hairs natural oils from the scalp down the hair shaft making it soft and shiny. Inside the box there’s the brush, a lovely wooden wide tooth comb and a useful mini rake tool to remove dead hair from the brush. Some brushes have nylon bristles interspaced with the natural ones, this one does not so it is very soft. It would be gentle enough to use on children’s hair as there are no spiky bristles. If you have thick hair, or like me a lot of hair, it is preferable to section areas to effectively brush it through using this brush.My routine is first I massage my scalp with my fingertips then use the wide tooth comb to detangle the hair length before using the bristle brush. I tip my head upside down and brush from underneath, roots to tip then flip head back up and brush hair from the scalp in 3” sections - the brushing process takes a good 5 minutes. The brush is a decent size and feels comfortable to hold. If you’re doing WO it is also important to keep your brush clean, as over time natural oils and dirt from the hair will collect in it. I wash my brush weekly in warm water, bristle side down but not submerged using a sulfate free soap, rinse in cold water and allow it to air dry.

I bought this specifically to help distribute the grease throughout my hair as I'm trying to extend days between washing my hair, and read that using a boar bristle brush helps to do this. I like the brush itself, really nice quality and the bristles are soft. It doesn't include any plastic or metal spikes which can cause damage/split ends. So far not experienced any shedding of the bristles which is great. The bristles are quite dense so I find that I need to first give my long hair a quick brush with my regular brush, and then I'll slowly go over it with this to help distribute the oil, working in sections. To be honest I've not noticed a huge difference with oil distribution, however with time I'm sure it will help. It provides a tiny bit of static but nothing concerning. The wide tooth comb is also nice quality. Really liked that it came with a rake to remove hair from the bristles, which a lot of other brushes don't provide (a bit cheap but does the job).
