A Game-Changer for Our Koi Pond: BLACK+DECKER "Heron" Repellent Outdoor
I recently purchased the BLACK+DECKER Animal Repellent Outdoor motion sprinkler, which also serves as an effective squirrel deterrent, dog repellent, raccoon deterrent, etc. Still, its value lies in its remarkable ability to keep herons away from our beloved koi pond. Our pond had unfortunately become a favorite spot for a heron we've named Henry, who seemed to think of it as his open buffet. This motion-detecting sprinkler has been a game-changer in preserving the tranquility and safety of our koi pond, keeping Henry at bay without causing harm. This item replaced a previous sprinkler that had served us well until it was forgotten outside during an ice storm, resulting in it freezing and breaking. What sets this BLACK+DECKER repellent apart for me is the inclusion of a solar panel. The solar panel is a fantastic addition, as it keeps the batteries charged, reducing the need for frequent battery replacements and ensuring the device remains operational even on cloudy days. This feature not only makes it more convenient but also more eco-friendly.The effectiveness of this product in deterring various animals without causing them harm is truly impressive. Finding a solution that protects our koi pond while respecting the wildlife that visits our garden has been a relief. The ease of installation and the reliability of the motion sensor have also been noteworthy, providing peace of mind that our pond is protected around the clock.Overall, I highly recommend the BLACK+DECKER Cat Repellent Outdoor to anyone looking for an effective, humane, and environmentally friendly way to protect their garden or pond from unwanted animal visitors. Its solar-powered functionality and dependable motion detection make it an outstanding investment for the peace and preservation of your outdoor spaces.

Lasted 2 months and died! DO NOT BUY!
There have been times when it has been going for hours causing flooding in the area. There is nothing apparently there that would reasonably cause the motion sensor to continuously spray water everywhere. I am not sure if its picking up the wind blowing the plants? However, this only is effective in raising my water bill. I'm sure the cats are not pooping in the area due to the water constantly going off plus side. Down side is a soggy, muddy yard and a large water bill due to its failure to shut off. The battery dies while under prolonged overcast rendering it useless in those moments. I give it 3 out of 5 stars. The motion detection I would rate at 3 out of 5 stars. Sturdiness is 5 out of 5. Easy to use I would rate it at 3 out of 5 stars since I have to constantly mess with the darn thing. I set this up at a remote location that I don't have access to when things go wrong. When this decides to spray continues water, it really causes a wet, soggy, muddy swamp before I can get out to deal with the problem. The plants that the water is protecting from raccoons, cats pooping and scratching up the plants, squeals, possums, rats and mice are relatively untouched by pests and poop. So, It does work when it is functioning properly. The plants do love the flooding in the area and are REALLY LUSUH due to the swamp that has been created. Point being that this doesn't preform without issues. You are going to need to keep an eye on this thing. If you don't mind having to fuss with this thing on a regular, then you will most likely be satisfied. If you want something you can set it up and forget it, you will be very agitated. Hope this helps.UPDATE!!! 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE IT DIED! IT NO LONGER WORKS! DO NOT BUY! ABSOLUTE JUNK!

Does the Job. Leaked a bit at first. Xlnt Motion Detection
I had a Skunk who tore up my Lawn because I had Grubs. Took care of the grubs..but he kept coming back to where he found grubs before. Trapping was above my pay grade.Found this "Solar powered Motion sensor" sprinkler. Perfect. No more Skunk.Ok...Read manual. The "Riser" leaked..even w teflon tape...took it out. Leak estimated as 2 drips per hour, so maybe half a gallon overnight...ie..no bueno. After remove riser, out in the sun a few days, no more leaks.Adjustments...clips adjust to 180 degrees or more..or less...Motion sensor goes from 0 to S - sprinkler on all time...I'm at 4...30 feet...it engages cars going by on the street.. Good sensor. (ie..if water is not on...it just clicks...water on...5 second spray 180..)Dial on head is fine spray or wide...I left it alone...narrow spray. This product works as advertised...it takes some trial and error...but for $39.99...No more skunk..AND since I now OWN it...No more critter problems.Lastly...I put a zip-tie on the faucet to show me how much to turn the water knob on...just a few degrees, and it just hits the sidewalk. It's more the shock of the sprinkler coming on than the water, really.Critter problem? this is the answer.And..you can get more of them, and put them in line with hoses connecting.Very satisfied, and it's actually quite a "hoot".Customer Cool 11/3/2023Update: Cloudy Rainy days...and the unit didn't work. It actually had a "red spot" blinkingin the front...like ETs heart...showing low battery power. ie..no Solar recharge.I removed the batteries..put them on a recharge charger I have..and it charged batts enoughso replacing them with a sunny day brought them back.Bottom line: Solar is only good when the Sun is out. Not sure if I'll need to replace batts.AND they are specific...not NiCad...Customer Cool 11/21/23

So far so good
Works well right out of the box. Installs quickly. The only reason for taking one star off is the sensor doesn't have a very wide angle of capture, defintely not 180 deg. Also, moving branches and leaves set off the sensor.

So far so good
I bought it to deter foxes coming to my garden at nights and it's so far so good. The first impression is the material looks much better than other none brand ones. It does leak a bit when first installed or after spray activated, but after awhile the leaking just stopped so I guess the "leaking" is more or less the result when spray activated. The only down side so far is it doesn't have Day and Night modes, so i have to switch the tap off every morning. It's kind of discourage my cat from enjoying the garden during the day due to the "click" motion detective sound is still on, therefore, 4 stars.

Cat-Be-Gone
We bought this device to stop neighbourhood cats coming onto the property. Not because we don't like cats but because they defecate on our lawn and gravel driveway. I have only had the device for a short time and located in the gravel drive the whole time. I only saw the cat there once because I'd turned it off and forgot to turn it back on. Since I placed it there...no more cat crap and apart from the one time, no more cats sunning itself either. It comes on with a vengeance sprays water and makes a racket that would give an errant cat a heart attack. It was straight forward to assemble and took a little bit of adjusting to get it dialed in. Very happy with Cat-Be-Gone and wish I had bought two because I still have the back lawn to deal with. You can hook up more than one to a hose if you have a large area but that wouldn't work in our situation
