In my opinion, this product is WAY better than protein styling gel and "Pro-Line Comb-Thru Wave Keeper gel". I apply this onto my hair after shampoo & conditioning with Creme of Nature Argan Oil products. This stuff is SO thick when it comes out the bottle that it retains its shape even when exposed to water. The only way it will dissolve is to work a tiny bit of product into your hair strands while wetting your hair in the shower. I use my Denman brush to style/slick back my hair. NOTE: Allow time for this stuff to dry in completely. If you don't use a hair dryer like me, I do chores and wait a few hours for the product to dry in. Your hair will turn into a hard shell, so don't freak out. To get the product out of your hair, all you have to do is thoroughly rinse your hair out a couple mins in the shower. I like this about the product bc this is the BEST way to maintain a neat hairstyle to where it controls frizz and I don't have to fix my thick hair as often. I put on a satin cap when I go to bed and take it off when I go to work, do errands in town, etc. Creme of Nature products help to revitalize my hair!!!

Nice hold but it does flake a little.

I like how thick it is and the texture it gives my hair for curls but I experienced too many brown flakes after it began too dry or during touch ups.

Dries too hard and pulls on hair. It is extremely hard to remove - uncombable/unbrushable and leaves a white matted residue on hair.

I was a little scared because the smell is pretty overwhelming when you open it but it doesn’t linger. This product has AMAZING hold. A little really does go a long way. It’s really thick but doesn’t weigh my waves/curls down.
