Burnt taste. Brews too quickly.
The coffee brews too quickly, within a minute, it then starts leaking from the area just above the handle. The coffee tastes almost burnt. Please invest in a better one which may be expensive but worth it. I wish I could return this. Waste of money.

No grill and cheap quality.
Does not provide the grill to place on the stove as given in the picture. Poor quality, money in the bin.

Does its job effectively - but not that big
Got one of these after years of caffitiere coffee making. The coffee produced is very similar in flavour, but you get the added bonus of a nice coffee aroma in the room. You have to pay attention to hear when it boils so that you don't end up heating it for too long. Easy enough to clean, but the silicone gasket is already leaking a bit after only a week or two - not a big deal, but something to note. 6 cups refers to 6 tiny espresso cups - you can get one decent mug out of this coffee maker. What I really like is that I'm no longer boiling too much water and wasting ground coffee which I invariably did with the caffitiere when making coffee for just myself. Given the relatively cheapness of gas vs electricity this will save me money in the long run on energy as well as not using coffee so quickly!

Classic moka pot design in aluminium
This is a tried and tested 'French' stove-top coffee pot design and makes a decent mug of strong coffee if you fill up the coffee basket with a fine blend. Its not an espresso maker, so enjoy the taste and smell, but don't expect any crema. If you prefer a more American style coffee, just add less coffee to the basket. It comes with a spare gasket and mesh which is handy and there is a safety valve in the base to release excess pressure. It doesn't work on induction, but you can by a circular steel disc to place over the induction ring which somehow allows your induction stove to heat aluminium utensils. Good value.

Likely to dribble and produce weak espresso
My more expensive Bialetti finally gave up the ghost as I put it on the stove having forgotton to fill the bottom part with water....I've done this several times but this last time was too much and it has weakened the handle and top and softened the metal of the coffee chamber. I was a bit horrified at the replacement price so researched a cheaper model and decided on the Von Shef. I think if I'd read the negative reviews I would have remembered why I bought the more expensive brand in the first place, having tried a cheaper model many years ago.I have not used my new espresso pot which arrived yesterday, as I want to send it back. I use the six cup model for making a latte for either myself or for myself and my partner. Filling the perforated coffee chamber with proper espresso coffee grounds to the top will, in my opinion, make two strong large shots of coffee to act as a base for your coffee. (A typical espresso is apparently only 50ml, hence this 300ml coffee maker produces 6 'cups'). I like a large mug of latte type coffee in the morning, so fill the coffee chamber half way with grounds and fill the water chamber to about two thirds. If making for two of us I pack the coffee chamber to the top with espresso sounds and can obviously only fill the water chamber to the highest level, ie, just touching the valve and this will make two smaller but stronger shots. I then top up my shot with hot milk and this makes a stong'ish large cup of latte, or milky, coffee. If it's too strong then you can top it up with hot water. Your coffee maker should not dribble when pouring, nor make a weak shot of coffee, nor exude water down the sides when bubbling on the stove. If you look at the Von Chef espresso maker and a lot of the other models of similar price, the spout is quite small which explains why some other reviewers found it messy to pour out their coffee - unless you pour slowly and in a thin stream, it will tend to dribble. This is partly why I ditched my cheaper espresso maker a few years ago and bought the proper Italian model even though it was almost twice the price. The other reason I am returning the Von Chef is that the coffee chamber is, in my opinion, too shallow. It is about two thirds the depth of the Bialetti six cup so will not hold enough espresso grounds to make a decent strength coffee. Again, I noticed a few comments about the strength of the reviewers' coffee, one of them blaming the coffee. It is more likely to be the limitation of the amount of coffee you can put into the coffee chamber. Maybe this doesn't matter to most people but as I like a BIG mug of good strength coffee, I need a good strong shot to accommodate the amount of milk I top it up with.I would reiterate again that I have not used the Von Chef as I want to return it untarnished as it is not faulty. I am simply stating the reasons why the design is, from past experience, likely to give me the two problems I have had in the past and provide other purchasers with the explanation of why it might dribble when pouring and provide a weaker coffee for some users' taste. The quality of the pot looks nice and sturdy.

Cautiously learned to use it...
Makes perfectly strong coffee.Easy and safe to use. I love it!I usually make a brew, use some for a quick tasty coffee then use the rest for my flask. One full pot I use a little in a cup and add boiling water as it is very strong. Same with flask.Goes a long way and smells great.10/10

at last a proper mug of yummee coffee
I've never had a real coffee maker before - always used instant or cafetiere. I'll never go back - this moka pot makes the most delicious coffee. Excellent value too!
