Pretty good sound quality
I tried to get the best bang for the buck unit to get the highest quality sound. Once you mess with the audio settings and find tune everything. It's pretty darn good. (JBL speakers, Rockford fosgate sub). Way better than stock and my previous aftermarket Chinese one.Installation wasn't too bad, my car was the difficult one.It is hard to see the time with polarized sunglasses but I guess you can expect that looking at a screen. I do wish there was a nob instead of touch buttons for the volume control, but it hasn't been a huge issue. If for some reason I wanted to listen to the radio, it's the best sounding radio I've heard from a car.I mostly use Android Auto with a USB cable. Just get in plug in and it starts right up. It also charges my phone too. Maps and YouTube music work extremely well with AA.I tested the included mic and it worked pretty well sounded like a normal phone call.I'm not using the option for steering wheel controls as that sounded like a lot of work honestly and you have to buy more stuff. But it's possible if that's a must for you.Overall I got it for the sound quality. And I'm not disappointed

Garbage
The HD tuner was the worst. It wouldn't stay hd and would switch from hd to analog and cut or repeat music/lyrics sometimes literally every other second. So now to bluetooth... any form of connection via bluetooth to play music had random millisec audio muting. Songs would lose sound just enough to throw off timing of a song or a beat. Really annoying. JVC and Kenwood are the same company now and this had a KW model# but this has Boss stank all over it (I read Boss makes some Kenwood/Jvc stuff now). Looks great screen felt good absolute garbage beyond that. I returned for an older refurbished ACTUAL Kenwood and so much happier. Older Kenwood tuner works great with same antenna and so does the bluetooth with same phones.

Great audio, features and response, ugly user interface
I installed this head unit in my 2011 Civic Si with an iDatalink Maestro RR module. This fit my wants of an Android Auto stereo with HD radio and capacitive touch, something competitive brands either didn't offer or charged much more for. I did not want to get wireless AA as I was skeptical of stability and battery draining on my phone. Worst case, I can try an adapter dongle later. The Maestro module works well with the head unit and minimal additional wiring and splicing was needed with the T Harness save for an antenna adapter- very neat seeing OBD and CAN data on the display like TPMS, MPG, etc. I added an aftermarket backup camera wired to accessory power and used the car reverse trigger so I could access the camera on command aside from reverse only.Pros:-Maestro RR integration-Touchscreen clarity and response- very minimal lag, if any, especially on Android Auto, smartphone-like response-GPS clock sync (built in GPS antenna)- seems like a simple feature but eliminates issues of inaccurate FM time syncing or manual setting retention that plagues most aftermarket head units. Also it should reduce power consumption from using the phone antenna alone, but I haven't tested that in depth.-Sound from RCA pre-outs and overall audio settings and customization-HD radio quality is excellent and crispCons:-By far the greatest con is the ugly user interface when not in Android Auto or Apple Carplay. The font is straight out of MS notepad on most menus, not the simple Arial as shown in the advertised images. Arial, Calibri, Helvetica, or some other simple font would look so much cleaner. Pioneer and even cheaper competitors like Dual/Boss have nicer UIs, as do stereos from 10+ years ago. I am not sure if this has been addressed in firmware updates since.-This may or may not be related to the Maestro module, but unlike competitors, my unit doesn't "remember" power settings. For instance, when powering off most head units, they will stay off after the next crank cycle until the unit is commanded on by the user. This stereo boots up every time the car is started, which is a bit annoying especially if you don't want the head unit on. It almost acts as if the radio is left on, then "killed" with the key, every time. This is good for the reverse camera interrupt though, and at least boot time isn't terrible, but if I didn't have a backup camera this would be a deal breaker to need to manually turn the unit off every startup. I have a Dual unit in another car that stays off when I want it off and has a "sleep" or "soft boot" just for the RCA reverse interrupt (after which switching out of reverse turns the screen back off) which is ideal.Overall it's a good value and it has what I want in terms of features, but there are a few interface/user experience annoyances not related to audio.

CarPlay is USB Only
So…CarPlay doesn’t connect via bluetooth on iPhone and must be connected via usb on this unit. That sucks and IMO defeats the whole point even though I guess it’s technically true that it “works with CarPlay.” Wanted to let other prospective buyers know before they dropped this much coinage. If somebody can solve this for me I’m all ears. I tried all the normal internet solutions: restarting, resetting, forgetting, etc. Boo.

Do not buy this
This is the second JVC radio but the first one the side buttons went out. I recently purchased this radio for my 2007 Mustang upon receiving the radio it did not fit nor was able to mount in the car. This radio also feels cheaply made and it upsets me due to JVC normally having good products. In the future, I would definitely recommend spending a little more in buying a pioneer

I love it
Nice upgrade for an older vehicle. Having android auto and being able to have maps pulled up on the radio is worth it alone for me. This unit is also loud, I replaced my speakers not to long ago with PRV 6½ and 4x6. They just fine of my old jvc single din. But this headunit packs more of a punch. The screen quality is nice and plenty bright on a sunny day there is no difficulty seeing the display.
