Great kit, quick and simple to use. Important to note that the finger prick thingy is a single fire, so don't go pressing the button to test it. It only works once! The glass capillary tube is inside the little plastic cone shaped container so easy to miss for some. Very simple and easy to use kit with clear results in 10 minutes but you MUST read the instructions first!

Very clear instructions good quality items for nearly all of the components except I got t the last stage of the process where you need to use a pipette to drop 3 drops of diluted blood into the reader. Fine except pipette was completely ineffective, cheap 2 moulded plastic pieces that did not draw the solution and split, rendering them completely ineffective and I did not have any other alternative but to pour in which of course meant too much went in probably making test null and void.infuriating that complete all steps then whole thing is a waste of time because corners skimped on a useless pipette.Waste of money

Great in practice but the lance did not work as a lot of people seem to have found out,

I suspected that I might be gluten intolerant and had been contemplating going to the doctors for a while, I am aware how reluctant GPs can be to give a diagnosis for coeliac disease, so wanted to go in to the surgery "fully armed"! Fortunately the test came out negative and I know know that gluten isn't an issue for me - that's one illness off the list at least!! The test is very easy to do and the finger prick doesn't hurt very much at all - all in all, very easy, a reasonable price for peace of mind and the results were very clear. I would definitely recommend to anyone who suspects they are gluten intolerant.

Instructions are not great, as they refer to a different finger pricker compared to what's actually in the pack. Also there is a bit of plastic test tube type thing in the pack I still don't know what it was for. However, it is easy. The key is not opening the pack that contains the actual test (like a pregnancy test so I'll refer to it as this even though it's for coeliac) until you get blood, as once opened it must be used quickly. So all you do is prick finger with finger pricker tool by putting finger on end and pressing button. Doesn't hurt but I bled quite a bit. Put one drop of blood by squeezing finger into clear solution which is in a little bottle. Shake up and it is now a pink solution, this waters the blood down a lot so it absorbs inot the test. Open pregnancy tester type kit from its foil package at this point, take dropper, collect blood and put three drops on hole on left side of pregnancy tester type thing. Blood and clear liquid mix drops then absorb into the pregnancy tester type thing, and move right along the tester towards two windows. The right of these two windows gets a line in it to show you performed the test correctly (the blood has got to the test windows) the left of these two windows only gets a line if it detects the antibodies present if you are coeliac. Much easier and quicker than going to doctors.

I can understand why some folks have trouble with this. The instructions for the needle tell you to press the end in until it clicks - mine was already "armed" out of the box - and then tell you to twist the end off - the text and diagram implied to me that you need to twist and snap it off to expose the needle. But this isn't the case. Once it is pressed in, you just twist it 90 degrees to free the clips and then just pull it out to uncover the needle - which is still inside at this point.So my advice would be,do read the instructions all the way through first,clear a space to work in,prepare all parts - tear the foil pouch and get the tester and pipette out, open the tube of liquid ready to accept the glass tube, open the container with the tube in and place it ready to pick up, and tear open the wipe. And arm the needle of course.*THEN* wipe and prick your finger - it doesn't hurt, but I bled profusely! If I hadn't got everything else ready, the kitchen would have ended up looking like an abbatoir.Fill the tube, drop it in the vial, put the plaster on your finger, then proceed as per the instructions.Oh, have a timer ready too - it says the test results should be read after 5 minutes, but not after more than 10 - I presume after a longer while, a false positive can possibly develop...?I was testing to see if my continual digestion problems might be gluten related - but they aren't. A clear line in the control window, not a sign in the test window.So, a bit expensive perhaps, but very good in my opinion.

This is a complete swindle - first of all you can't return the product if on reading the instructions you decide it is not suitable. Secondly the amount of blood required to do the test is just ridiculous; not just one drop as in a blood sugar test. Thirdly the results are ambiguous like a poor quality pregnancy test. What a waste of money.

I bought this as I was certain I was gluten intolerant - turns out I'm not!I did go into the doctors for a blood test but these can take up to 6 weeks to come back and I wanted an answer sooner so bought this kit andin a few minutes I had my answer, the doctors did eventually get back to me with the same result.for the money its well worth buying if you need to check gluten intolerance as if you are the sooner you make lifestyle changes the easier things will be. Easy to use and the need prick is barely noticeable and the results are easy to read.
