The best Artaud book out there!
This book really is excellent!!! I'm studying drama at the moment and have had real difficulty in getting to grips with Artaud. Most of the other stuff I've read doesn't really show how you can put Artaud's ideas into practice, but Lee Jamieson's book includes a whole chapter that adapts exercises from Artaud's followers to explain his ideas. (eg, Richard Schechner, Peter Brook and Charles Marowitz.)Also, it shows clearly how Artaud's ideas work philosophically - everything I needed to know for my practitioner exam question. It's a really great book!

The Theory and Practice of Artuad
My most memorable experience from university was learning about Artaud and the Theatre of Cruelty. It gave me a real passion to continue drama.I ended up teaching part time in a college, but just couldn't communicate my love for Artaud to the students.I stumbled across this book and loved the exercices in it - so did my students. This book makes Artaud seem easy without talking down. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to understand Artaud, but doesn't want to destroy the mystique that surrounds him. 10/10
