My partner loved it!
Bought this for my partner who is a big Bowie fan and he loved it, said there were a few interviews in the book that he had not seen before and that's saying something!

Bowie...from beginning to (nearly) end.
A great read...an in depth review of every album that Bowie has made (except for Blackstar) and plenty of interviews along the way. Thoroughly recommend it.

Bowie: The Complete Story (Uncut Ultimate Music Guide Deluxe Remastered edition) Poor photo quality on Amazon reprint
Great content, mix of classic archival interviews and album reviews (David Bowie to The Next Day), written with a mix of respect and humour in true Uncut at it's best style (it's been a while since I've read the non "Deluxe Remastered" & I haven't got my copy to hand so can't say how much of the content is reprinted - original version pre-dated The Next Day). And it has one of Alan Jones legendary (much missed from the regular magazine) stories involving a massive falling out between him, Bowie & Lou Reed. Only docked a star because the copy I've just bought (accidentally repurchased - 23 Jan 16) direct from amazon uk is an not mentioned in the listing Amazon UK reprint . Size is slightly shorter and fatter than the UK newstand version from last year, it's on more bookish & no longer glossy paper, & looks a bit more like a book than a thick magazine/bookazine (still has the two adverts for Uncut/subscriptions). Sadly the photos in this edition aren't as well reproduced, but instead look pixelised, especially the full page photographs & half page album covers and the front & back cover.eta: It's also slightly different by having an extra page with Amazon UK printing details, and no cover price.

Were it not for the ad.........
This is an engaging publication, let down by a full page advertisement in the middle for a subscription offer from "UnCut" magazine.Frankly, If I'm paying a tenner, I don't expect to see ads in my book.So if you're looking for a swish, coffee table publication that looks super impressive to your friends, this isn't it.It's an enjoyable collection of articles that are easy to dip into, and I thought did offer some true depth of insight into the man. It's not a format I normally enjoy, but on this occasion, I thought it worked well. There is some debate over whether is this a book or a magazine. There's little point in dancing on the end of a pin over this, but you could say it was a book in magazine formation, but equally it could be a magazine in book format. But it's the contents that matter. It's the eclectic nature of the material that appeals to me, gathered from different sources and in different styles. I can't see how it could have been put together in any other way. So, whether it be a book or magazine doesn't matter - it's irrelevant.

Fascinant !

Nice compendium
For all Bowie fans a nice supplement when it comes to record reviews and more insights about David's output. Rounded up with a load of nice images and sidenotes, I enjoyed reading it and expanding my Bowie horizon.
