The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology: Revised Edition: Star Wars

I play in a RP server in SWTOR. This guide will be my ultimate geek's guide to the tech in my roleplays! I'm going to be the most knowledgeable smuggler around! :)

This book is really great, lots of information on lots of different weapons and technologies. The pictures are really nice with the whole 3D aspect, an amazing book.

Good expanding the Universe better than what would come latter but it was missing some from the original why ? this was the start of the decline

This book is another great installment in the New Essential Guide series. It is highly entertaining and a must have for any Star Wars nerd. Well written and full of nice 3D illustrations, the book is highly entertaining as well as being informative.The book covers seven theme-based categories which also constitute chapters. Each chapter deals with an aspect of the weaponry and technology of the Star Wars galaxy. Thus, for example, the category "Melee Weapons" contains entries on various types of hack-n-slash weapons, such as the legendary lightsaber, while the category "Superweapons" contains entries on weapons of mass destruction such as the Death Star, the Galaxy Gun, the Sun Crusher and all those Imperial superweapons that Star Wars fans have come to love.Weapons and technology from not only the movies, but also the vast amount of Expanded Universe material, including comics and video games, are included in this book. Thus the range of topics covered range from the well-known and celebrated weapons like blasters and lightsabers to the latest, and to some silly, weaponry and technology of the Yuzhaan Vong (these are some of the things you might not want to know - unless you're a fan of the Vongs).Each chapter also contains information on the historical, cultural, political, and philosophical backgrounds of the weapons, such as Grand Moff Tarkin's "Doctrine of Fear" as being the political philosophy behind all the Superweapons churned out by the Empire. i found this book entertaining and brilliantly written.every page is descriptive explaining everything from a blaster to a planetary turbolaser.it is split into seven categories of ranged weapons,melee weapons,starship and planetary weapons,superweapons,defenses and armor,sensor communinications and security devices and eventuallyother equipment.It also includes id charts for blasters,lightsabers,grenades and armor.everthing has also been illustrated using computer technology.all in all i would recommend this book highly.
