the 70 is embroidery only. you will want the b79 it is sewing and embroidery. thank-you for buying from Top Notch!

Q: Where is the B79 made?

Not really sure. It's one of 2 places. Either Switzerland or Taiwan. They use to make all the machines in Switzerland now its just the big ticket ones along with the long arms.

Q: Does the Bernette b79 have a free arm option?

I would of sent a picture but my camera on phone is not doing good. The answer to your question is yes it has a free arm. The embroidery part slides off of the machine so you can do regular sewing. Along with sleeves and cuffs.
