Ice Princess [DVD]

This is a classic. It has a place in several genres and excels in all of them. There are many messages, many rich narrative angles and many well drawn characters. The dialogue, acting, production values, skating, photography and pacing are all done very well. The cast is all star, and all on form. The plot premise is original and strong and easy to identify and engage with. I am a fan of the 'Cutting Edge' series of skating films, and I have to say this is a better and more serious film than those. It does not put a foot wrong and has many lovely little quips and moments.I won;t spoil the joy of discovery for anyone who has not yet seen the film with spoilers.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This is a very nice family film will certainly watch it again well worth the money.

i think this film is brilliant!! i watched it funnily enough with my dad (target audience is teenage girs and their mums) and what really surprised me is that he was totally engrossed and said at the end that he thought it was a really good film! whats even funnier is that he usually only has time for subtitled european arthouse films - if this film can win him around it must be doing something right!

A fun film to watch, Michelle Trachtenberg is superb at playing a high school geek who manages to be accepted by everyone as she is now good at sports and becomes sexy ( By taking her hair out of the ponytail. ) . Joan Cusack is excellent as Casey's ( Trachtenberg's ) mother who is pushing her to go to an Ivy League University to study physics which oddly enough is something else Casey really excels at.BTW To be exhibiting superior expertise in an athletic sport, with no real training till she is 18! is totally unrealistic. Not a real hope in hell!So girls and boys remember, you need to work hard to get to the top.

Perfect Disney movie about being true to yourself and the consequences of not communicating with family. Great for kids of all ages or family movie night.
