SHIMANOAcera RD-M3020-SGS Rear Derailleur - 7/8 Speed, Long Cage, Black

I have a Fuji Sunfire hybrid bicycle. Long time ago the original derailleur was damaged and somebody in the bike shop told me to get Deore Derailleur because it is considered to be higher end. At that time I did not realize that the Deore is for another speed count and struggled for years as it did not shift correctly. Finally started to research and found the Acera is the one that fits my bicycle. Got this one, installed and suddenly the bicycle is shifting good, running good and does not make any problems anymore.

I needed a long cage derailleur to accommodate an 11-40T Shimano cassette. The installation was easy and fast. By following the instructions from the following video on Youtube by Park Tool, "How to Adjust a Rear Derailleur – Limit Screws & Indexing," the derailleur performs well. The shifting is on point, quiet, and smooth. I am very satisfied with the derailleur.

Perfect for wide range setups on old shimano groups. I.e poverty GRX.I am using this with an 11-40T 9 speed cassette in a 2x setup, with 34-50 chainrings. Works fine with my Shimano 9 speed shifters.This works out to be 45t chain wrap, and it handles it fine. When I show this setup off at bike shops people are amazed.

We were on a 10 day rv vacation and on the 2nd day my son's derailleur snapped right off his Specialized Rockhopper. Next day delivery and a couple tools and he was back to riding with his brothers and new campground friends. Very simple to adjust

It is in the same family as the derailleur I was replacing. I did prefer the older style which had a shorter cage and a larger jockey wheel at the bottom.
