Premier Onion Powder 1kg by JustIngredients

I've just read the top review for this product, saying that his onion powder went hard. Yes! That happens, it's seriously annoying! Even with care it can go a bit clumpy because onion powder is hydroscopic (attracts moisture). Just Ingredients supply this in a press top ziplock style bag so in theory you should be able to store it well enough but I find that it keeps better when I decant mine into a large jar with a very well fitting lid. I bought a big bag and would prefer not to suffer the onion powder brick problem before I've used it up.Anyway, it's seriously good onion powder. Strong and mellow with a delicious savoury onion scent and an even better flavour. The very pale cream coloured powder has been ground finely to the point where it produced a dusty cloud when I was pouring it into my jar. It's superb quality and I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this.It's great to see Just Ingredients are supplying Amazon at such fabulous prices and this onion powder is no exception, it's currently a really reasonable price. Nothing from this brand ever disappoints me on the quality of ingredients and they have their own website with technical product specifications for everything they produce; especially useful if you need to know extra information such as pesticide use, metal analysis, allergen presence and nutritional data.

OMG! what can I say about this "onion powder"? Well let's start at the price, it is a good price for the weight. Now for the quality... it is best quality onion. Now the part you really want to know, the taste! This onion powder has a really natural onion flavour. No taste has been lost in it's production. It's not too strong and is amazing for cooking and just adding to a cheese sandwich etc. This is the 2nd product I have bought from Just Ingredients and both products (arrowroot being the 1st product from them) have been excellent quality and value. I highly recommend this onion powder and "Just Ingredients. As long as their produce remains of the same quality and value I will be purchasing other products from them. Buy this onion powder, you will not be disappointed.

Good product and lasts long. Has long expiry date.

A very fine powder that needs careful, slow decanting. I used a hand made paper funnel, a soup spoon and a few air tight jam jars. The flavour was true (just dried onion) and the suggestion that 1 small level spoonful is equivalent to 1 medium onion seemed to hold. Best make a paste of the amount to use in a little cold water before adding to casseroles. The 1kg bag shoud last us ages and save us a lot of tears!

A great substitute for this who can't eat fibre. This is very easy to cook with and no-one knows the difference. Easy win!

I love this brand and wow do you get a lot of powder for your money. Wasn't sure exactly how big it would be when I bought it, so was sceptical about the price but it's actually great value. You will need to decant amounts into a smaller tin though if you don't want onion powder everywhere!

Tastes fine to me and a very good price so no complaints.Not really a lot more you can say about onion powder is there?

Beware the slightest bit of moisture that gets in this package and the entire pouch turns hard, an absolute ball-ache having to scrape the top surface with a fork every time a little was needed. I bought a pouch of garlic at the same time as I bought this onion and haven’t had the moisture issue, garlic still loose and easy to use. The powdered onion has a strong flavour, but it’s not worth the messing round, I went back to dried flaked onion.
