I have used handle axe a couple of times, been pleased with it so far.

I needed to replace my circa 1940's hand axe. I bought this and it chops stuff just like the old one. Looks a bit nicer too.

Cutting edge could have been much better, it was a little too thick cutting edge, had to grind the angled down with my belt file. Overall, If you put in the elbow grease and reshape the edge down a bit and could be decent.

DECEPTIVE AD!!!! Clearly shows 2 axes but only received 1. Nowhere does it say you will only receive 1 instead of the two pictured! Picture is right from their listing!!!! Have not used item yet, possibly returning it for DECEPTIVE AD!!!!!

While I hate to post a review before using an item, I’m doing so partly based on many years of prior experience with a dozen or more axes and hatchets. I was looking for a longer than normal hatchet to split smaller pieces of wood (we primarily heat our cabin with wood and go through a lot every year). Based on its feel, balance and apparent quality, I m giving 4 stars.Only negative so far - the rubber edge protector for the blade is too thin and flimsy to be useful. On arrival it was partially cut through by the sharpness of the edge (a mixed blessing of sorts).
